A past star from the Disney Channel has shared the news that she is expecting a baby.

Skai Jackson, best recognized for her role as Zuri Ross on the TV show Jessie and her appearances in its spin-off, Bunk’d, has shared some exciting news with People: she's going to be a mom! She's expecting her first baby with her boyfriend, whose name hasn't been disclosed yet.

"I’m excited to start this new phase of my life – welcoming motherhood and exploring new acting opportunities. I feel so happy!" she shared with the publication.

The announcement about the actress expecting a baby arrives only a few months after she was taken into custody in August on charges of domestic violence. At that time, Jackson was at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles with her boyfriend when security intervened, claiming she had pushed him, as stated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Fortunately, there were no weapons present and no visible injuries observed. Jackson was released from the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station just a few hours after arriving, without any charges being filed against him.

"Skai is grateful that the inquiry showed this was simply a miscommunication. We are thankful that the District Attorney promptly decided there would be no charges at all, and Skai is eager to move on from this situation," a spokesperson for the actress shared with People back then.

As the 22-year-old gets ready to welcome her first child, she has previously expressed her admiration for her strong bond with her mother, Kiya Cole, who raised her as a single parent. In an interview with People in 2023, Jackson shared, “[My mom] always encouraged me to advocate for myself, uphold my beliefs, and strive for justice.” She went on to say, “I’m really grateful to her because, without her support, I likely wouldn’t have the confidence I have today.”

The former Disney Channel star has shared the news of her pregnancy following actress Megan Fox's recent revelation that she is having a baby with her fiancé, rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

The star of *Jennifer’s Body* revealed that she’s expecting a baby in an Instagram post on Monday, November 11. The post featured a picture of Fox cradling her baby bump, along with another photo of a positive pregnancy test. She included a caption with lyrics from Kelly’s song "Last November," which reflected on the couple's experience with a previous miscarriage.

"Nothing is truly gone. It's good to have you back," Fox stated.

In 2023, the Transformers actress opened up about experiencing a miscarriage with Kelly while on Good Morning America. “I had never faced anything like this before in my life,” Fox shared. “I have three children, so it was really hard for both of us. It led us on a crazy journey, both together and individually, constantly trying to figure out: ‘What does this signify? Why did this occur?’”

Both Fox and Kelly have alluded to a miscarriage that occurred in 2021. Fox appeared to touch on the topic of her pregnancy loss in a passage from her poetry collection, "Pretty Boys Are Poisonous."

"There's an ultrasound picture next to your bed, showing that you were 10 weeks and 1 day along… do you think she would have left a suicide note if she had the chance?" she wrote. "But now it's time for me to say farewell. I shut my eyes and picture myself holding you close to my heart as they take you away from me."

"I'm willing to pay whatever it takes; just let me know how much it will cost to save her soul."
