The coming-of-age show aired for three seasons on E4 from 2008 to 2010 and was later accompanied by two films.

Last month, Joe Thomas, 40, who portrayed the character Joe Thomas, hinted that the main actors might come back together again. He mentioned his interest in a potential reboot.

At 40 years old, Bird, who played his school buddy Will McKenzie, has shared his thoughts, and they aren't positive.

In an interview with MailOnline, Bird expressed, “I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's just not going to happen. I can say with certainty that there are no chances for a reunion.”

The actors from The Inbetweeners were seen at the premiere of the second movie in 2014.

He said, “The cast would love to, but it’s not our decision to make. It really depends on the writers, Iain [Morris] and Damon [Beesley]. I know they have a lot on their plates right now.”

"I'm sorry to say that the chances of it happening now are no greater than they were ten years ago," Bird remarked.

"I believe it was a comedy that captured a specific era," he went on to say. "So, to clarify, there hasn't been any talk about creating a new show or movie."

Bird acknowledged that even though fans often approach him on the street and recite lines from The Inbetweeners, he doesn’t recall his own lines from the series.

"I'm completely lost on what they're discussing," he admitted. "I can't recall the show at all; I don't believe I've even seen it since we filmed it in 2008."

The Inbetweeners: A Visual Journey

Bird, who has also appeared in projects like Friday Night Dinner, The Harry Hill Movie, and Everyone Else Burns, appeared reluctant to bring back his character from The Inbetweeners earlier this year. In an interview with The Radio Times, he expressed his belief that a revival of the show would be a "horrible idea."

He expressed his thoughts, saying, "I have a gut feeling that it would be a really bad move. The humor of these characters came from the particular phase of life they were in."

They managed to escape consequences for some of the awful things they said and did since, at their core, they were still basically kids.

“If they were to reunite now, I’m not certain it would be amusing. It might actually come off as a bit depressing and unsettling.”

Even though the show made him famous, Bird has expressed his belief that The Inbetweeners hasn't stood the test of time and questioned whether it would be approved for production in today’s climate.

In an interview with The Telegraph, he reflected on the changes that have occurred since the show first premiered, pointing out the instances of sexism and the "casual homophobia" exhibited by the characters.

He explained, “I justify it by thinking that, back then, it truly reflected how teenagers communicated with one another. But is that still true today? I doubt it.”
