Supporters are surprised by a video showing Shia LaBeouf getting ready to brawl with a group of men near a bar in Edinburgh.

The celebrity, aged 38, who officially joined the Catholic Church early this year, was captured on video shouting, "come on, I'm here, you m**********r," on Saturday, 31st August.

In the video, LaBeouf seems to angrily toss his hat to the ground and then raise his fists, while two other men intervene to restrain the actor from The Peanut Butter Falcon.

The Independent has reached out to LaBeouf's spokespersons for a statement.

LaBeouf is currently in Scotland as his wife Mia Goth works on Guillermo del Toro's upcoming Dr. Frankenstein movie, set to release in 2025. The pair has been spotted in both Edinburgh and Glasgow in the last week.

The evening before the video of LaBeouf was filmed, a pub employee told The Sun that they saw the actor at Whistlebinkies pub where he was friendly to other customers.

"He was at the place on Friday. He was really kind to everyone there," they shared with the media. "It seems like the incident in the video happened the next day. I heard there was some commotion, but there's always something happening every day."

In 2014, LaBeouf got in trouble outside the Studio 54 Broadway theatre in New York City for causing a disturbance during a performance of Cabaret while under the influence of alcohol. He confessed to behaving improperly and was required to attend a program for treatment.

The actor from the show Even Stevens was taken into custody once more after three years for causing a disturbance, this time in Georgia. He later posted a statement on his social media, expressing regret for his actions and taking full responsibility for them.

The recent video of LaBeouf in Edinburgh arrives amidst ongoing issues, as he is currently dealing with accusations of abuse and sexual assault made by British singer FKA Twigs (birth name Tahliah Debrett Barnett), who was in a relationship with him from 2018 to 2019.

In 2020, the singer of the song "Cellophane" took legal action against LaBeouf, alleging that he committed crimes such as sexual assault, physical assault, and causing emotional harm. The court case has experienced multiple postponements because of conflicts in scheduling between LaBeouf and FKA Twigs.

Legal papers mentioned that the event is anticipated to occur on either 1 November 2023 or 6 December 2023, or at the next available date on the Court's schedule.

LaBeouf has refuted every claim made by FKA Twigs of abuse.

He did admit to his wrongdoing and apologized for treating himself and those around him poorly for many years. He acknowledged that he has a pattern of hurting those who are closest to him and expressed regret for the harm he has caused them.
