GOAL! United in front!50' Sheffield United 1-0 Wrexham
United deserve the lead, but this has surprisingly come against the run of play.
Ahmedhodzic and Osborn play a lovely one-two that puts Ahmedhodzic in on goal on the right side, and he lashes a shot past Lainton from a tight angle.

Wrexham keeping hold of ball50' Sheffield United 0-0 Wrexham
The opening minutes of the second half have bucked the trend of the first half, as Wrexham have enjoyed an extended spell of possession. For a moment it appeared as though Mullin was open alone in front of the box, but the moment passed.

Half-time thoughtsNo doubt what the biggest moment of the half was. James McAtee's miss after being played through by Iliman Ndiaye on the half hour. A rare Wrexham mix-up 30 yards from the Blades goal created the chance, as Jacob Mendy was left alone at the back with Ndiaye and McAtee racing towards him. Ndiaye got to the ball first, put it past the Wrexham man and McAtee was away. Thirty five yards later, he was left one-on-one with Rob Lainton only to drill his shot wide.
That McAtee chance and an Anel Ahmedhodzic snapshot saved by Rob Lainton apart, Wrexham have acquitted themselves well. United, as you'd expect, have seen plenty of possession but genuinely good opportunities have been hard to come by. Phil Parkinson's plan is clearly to hit the home side on the break, and Paul Mullin has had a couple of threatening moments. He did particularly well to create an opening for himself by turning Anel Ahmedhodzic but then his shot clipped John Egan to go wide.
But, really, he needs a bit more support up front, with Sam Dalby otherwise occupied with his defensive efforts.
It will be interesting to see how the second half develops, as play is likely to get stretched and that could be just the invitation Mullin needs. Ollie Palmer's introduction from the bench could also make a difference.
For United, Ismaila Coulibaly has done okay on full debut. But there still needs to be more from midfield. The wide areas aren't really yielding too much in open play, either, which is perhaps not a surprise with centre-half Chris Basham playing wide-right and midfielder Ben Osborn down the left.
Where Blades have been cute is in releasing Ahmedhodzic to play further forward when in possession. No point keeping the back three in place to mark just one man in Mullin (Dalby drops back the moment Wrexham lose the ball) and it led to Ahmedhodzic having a clear sight of goal only for Lainton to save so well.

HT: Sheffield United 0-0 WrexhamSheffield United have been the better side, and admittedly should be leading through McAtee's chance, but Wrexham have held their own here.
All to play for in the second half!

Coulibaly picks up the first yellow card of the game for handling the ball as Wrexham looked to break forward from a United corner.
Moments earlier, Coulibaly and Mullin were wrestling with one another quite comically.

Great save by Lainton!35' Sheffield United 0-0 Wrexham
Ndiaye sets up Ahmedhodzic right in front of goal, but Lainton gets down well to make a great save. Ahmedhodzic should perhaps have slotted the ball into the corner.
Moments later Sharp has a shot as well, but hits it right to Lainton, a much simpler save.

McAtee misses massive chance!29' Sheffield United 0-0 Wrexham
Wrexham have bodies forward but turn the ball over, and Sheffield United are away on a 2-on-0.
McAtee goes for goal himself and has plenty to aim at, but puts his shot wide of the post. Massive missed opportunity that, it should be 1-0.

Wrexham holding their own17' Sheffield United 0-0 Wrexham
Sheffield have had all four shots we've seen in this match so far, and are controlling the lion's share of possession at a three-quarters clip, but you wouldn't say Wrexham are being blown off the pitch.
They're holding their own, and have enjoyed a few forays forward.

Twice now United have directed headers on goal from corners. The first was blocked by a scrum of bodies in front of goal, while the second just now was a tame effort, easily claimed by Lainton.
