Swansea regretted a significant missed opportunity by Myles Peart-Harris, who is on loan from Brentford, just before the Blades managed to score. Harrison Burrows delivered an excellent cross that was unfortunately redirected into Swansea's own net by defender Tymon.
That young horse would play a crucial role as the Blades secured a 1-0 victory at Bramall Lane.
Swansea's head coach, Luke Williams, mentioned, "I believe Myles Peart-Harris had a chance to slide the ball into the net from just a few yards out, but he missed the opportunity."
"If you want to make any progress against Sheffield United this season, you really need to capitalize on your opportunities. It was a bit frustrating because I felt we performed quite well."
The Swans fell to 12th place, now four points behind the top six after suffering their third loss in the league this season. Meanwhile, the ex-Notts County manager believes that the Blades are strong contenders for promotion.
"I think the Championship is likely to be more competitive this season," Williams said. "However, there's no doubt that Sheffield United will be a strong contender."
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder shared that an "energetic" talk during the half-time break had the positive impact he was hoping for in the team's victory at home.
The Blades maintained their unbeaten run in the Championship, now at eight games, and achieved their fifth consecutive clean sheet. The turning point in the match came from an own goal by Swansea defender Josh Tymon just before halftime.
"Wilder playfully remarked, 'One-nil for the Arsenal,' after his team rose to third in the standings, just two points shy of the top team, Sunderland."
"I believe we can perform better and be more energized in the first half. When we did manage to break through, we were too negative and inactive. We played too much sideways and backward, which isn't typical for us."
As you can guess, that message was delivered pretty emphatically during the halftime break, and I felt we performed much better in the second half.
"We really should have been more at ease in the final 15 to 20 minutes. We need to be a bit sharper and more precise."
In the second half, the Blades hit the woodwork two times. Tyrese Campbell’s rebound attempt hit the crossbar, while substitute Kieffer Moore’s low shot bounced off the post.
"If you manage to secure a win against a team, like we probably should have done tonight, it completely shifts the mood and obviously affects the entire match," Wilder remarked.
"If you don't manage the game well, you'll face the consequences. We committed too many late fouls, giving them the chance to deliver the ball into our penalty area."
“I have to commend our defense; everyone gave their all to secure another clean sheet and maintain our unbeaten streak, which we take great pride in.”
