Aherne joins Sheffield United on loan

Manchester United Women have announced that winger Alyssa Aherne will join Sheffield United on loan for the 2024/25 season in the Barclays Women’s Championship.
In May 2023, Alyssa officially joined the club by signing her first professional contract. This came after she made her debut with the first team during our 4-0 League Cup win against Sheffield United in December of that season. With this achievement, she became the 12th player from the Academy to be signed to our women’s first team since it was restructured in 2018.
Aherne has participated in first-team matches during the current pre-season for United Women.
"This season-long loan presents a fantastic chance for Alyssa to gain important first-team experience, contributing to her growth as a player in the challenging Women’s Championship. We’re excited to keep track of her development as the season unfolds."
