Week two of Strictly Come Dancing was quite eventful. Shayne Ward addressed some online criticism he received, Chris McCausland delivered the funniest joke of the season, we enjoyed a performance featuring Shania Twain's music, and despite suffering an injury that limited his training to just 16 hours, Nick Knowles still managed to dance.

Earlier this week, the host of DIY SOS injured his shoulder, raising doubts about whether he would take part. However, he managed to perform after only getting “two days” to practice.

In the opening two weeks of the BBC competition, this year's group of stars gradually got accustomed to the event. The launch show featured the contestants teaming up with their professional partners, followed by a week of performances where no one was sent home.

Tonight, the judges' scores from last week will be carried over and added to the audience votes. As a result, two couples will face the intense dance-off during the results show on Sunday, September 29th.

Couples' Dance And Song Performances This Week

One of the main highlights from last week's episode was a rather unusual song selection, where the unfortunate Paul Merson found himself doing a sort of American Smooth to Fat Les's "Vindaloo."

It's obvious why they chose Merson, a former football player, to perform to a football-themed song. However, there were reports before the episode aired suggesting that he felt a bit let down by that choice. Unsurprisingly, the performance didn't go over well, and many think he might end up being this year's "comedian" participant.

Here are the song selections and dance routines that the couples will be showcasing this week:

Nick Knowles: Just Two Days To Rehearse Due To Injury

Nick Knowles has announced that he will take the stage on tonight’s episode of Strictly, despite having sustained an injury.

Earlier this week, the host of DIY SOS injured his shoulder, leaving him with only two days to train before his upcoming performance.

On Saturday morning (September 28), he posted a video on Instagram, letting his followers know: "I'm heading to the studios – it's show day! I've spent the last two days learning the dance as best as I could. I promise to put my all into it tonight and aim to deliver a great performance."

Luba [Mushtuk] has created something incredible with her choreography. Now, all that's left for me is to bring it to life on stage. It’s been a challenging week, but I’m really looking forward to dancing tonight. And don’t worry about me—my shoulder is improving more each day.

He expressed his gratitude to his fans and mentioned that he would "do my utmost" for all those who have supported him. He recognized that he is at risk of being eliminated if he doesn’t improve his performance, as he currently sits in the bottom four on the leaderboard from last week.
