During Week 5 of the ballroom competition, former X Factor champion Shayne and his dance partner received the green light to participate in the upcoming Halloween special. They were then invited to give their fans a sneak peek of their rehearsals.

Introducing a surprisingly charming duet of Oleta Adams' song "Get Here."

Co-host Claudia Winkleman expressed that it was "absolutely fantastic" (BBC screenshot).

"Shayne, what an amazing birthday gift! You participated in the dance-off last week, and you and Nancy seem absolutely thrilled. How great does it feel to be up here?" asked co-host Claudia Winkleman.

The 40-year-old, who had previously put out four studio albums before shifting his focus to acting in shows like Coronation Street and The Good Ship Murder, expressed that both he and his partner felt "relieved" to avoid being in the bottom two this time.

Changing the subject, Claudia remarked, "Nancy, I heard you both have been singing together. Could you share a little bit with us?"

Once they had gathered their thoughts for the unexpected performance, Shayne and Nancy started singing the beginning of 'Get Here,' which includes the lines: "You can reach me by train, you can reach me by bus, you can reach me by plane, you can reach me through your thoughts."

Although Paul and Karen's Samba impressed judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, they were ultimately sent home in favor of JB Gill and Amy Dowden.

"It's been fantastic," remarked sports analyst Paul afterward. "Whenever I speak to someone, I always recommend they join this show. It's incredible—everyone involved is great. Truly, it's been wonderful. I enjoyed every second of it, and my instructor has been exceptional. I couldn't ask for a better mentor."

"I have truly enjoyed every moment. I can dance now—I've come out on top because I've learned to dance. I wasn't able to before, and while I'm still mastering it, I can at least manage a bit of dancing now. It's an amazing perk, just fantastic."

Karen shared that she’s never laughed so much before and expressed her gratitude to her famous partner for demonstrating that anyone can learn to dance if they're willing to put in some effort.

Strictly Come Dancing will be back on Saturday, October 26, airing on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
