'Aberdeen & Celtic deliver exhausting, exhilarating classic'

Scottish Cup

During a period where there is a lot of wind and rain, Hampden witnessed an unusual appearance of sun on Saturday. On that day, the Aberdeen and Celtic men didn't miss the opportunity to play and enjoy their time. They played endlessly without getting tired.

The Scottish Cup semi-final was truly exciting and unforgettable, making your heart race like never before. It was a thrilling experience – like riding a rollercoaster made of football! It felt like the game went on forever, and it's hard to think of many other cup matches that were as good as this one. It certainly deserves to be remembered as one of the all-time greats.

Celtic managed to reach the next round, but it wasn't an easy feat. They relentlessly attacked the Aberdeen team, who demonstrated incredible strength and determination. The score was against them twice during the match, but they managed to bounce back each time. When it came to the penalty shootout, they were behind five times but still refused to give up until the very last moments, unfortunately, they lost in the end.

It is quite appropriate that the cup game, which showed the tremendous personality of both teams, was finally won by a player whose last name is Hart. Even though the Celtic goalkeeper failed to score in the penalty shootout, he successfully saved the last shot from Killian Phillips that decided the game after nearly three hours.

When the score of 1-0 was in place, Aberdeen seemed dominant and a major concern for Celtic's efforts to secure a double. However, when they fell behind with a score of 2-1, it appeared that their defeat was an inevitability. But then, from an unknown source, they gathered reinforcements from their bench and uncovered newfound confidence and intensity. Junior Hoilett had a couple of excellent opportunities to even the score, but unfortunately was unable to do so. It's a real shame for Aberdeen, as they once again narrowly miss out on a victory at Hampden.

Suddenly, a game-changing goal was scored and the score was tied at 2-2. It was an unexpected and thrilling turn of events. Then, there was another chance for Adam Idah to score the winning goal, but it was expertly blocked by Jack MacKenzie. The game was pushed into overtime and even the fans watching the madness needed a break.

How do you even start summarizing it? The amount of information presented indicated that Celtic was dominating this semi-final matchup and it seemed highly likely that they were doing so with little effort.

The Dons had not defeated Celtic in 24 matches. Only Callum McGregor remains in both teams' starting line-ups since their last encounter. Andrew Considine was the one who secured the victory back then, indicating the long stretch of time that has passed since their last win.

Since then, Celtic has won 57 out of 72 matches against Aberdeen. They have won with scores ranging from 1-0 to 6-0, and have even managed to keep Aberdeen from scoring in some matches. As a result, people expected Celtic to continue their winning streak. However, the last time they played in February, it was a tie. February had been a difficult month for Celtic with not only the draw against Aberdeen, but also ties with Kilmarnock and two narrowly-won matches against Motherwell and Hibs.

Brendan Rodgers' squad is currently in a favorable situation, whereas Aberdeen is making strides after the chaos under Neil Warnock's leadership, but they still don't pose a significant challenge.

The striker from North Macedonia, Bojan Miovski, who has a great reputation, only managed to score once in 11 games before reaching the semi-finals. It was incredible how Warnock managed to transform him from a great scorer into someone who couldn't hit the target. Nevertheless, Miovski has been working hard to regain his form over the past few weeks and has shown some signs of improvement, as Cameron Carter-Vickers and Liam Scales can confirm.

Miovski created a lot of excitement at Hampden when he scored a goal in the third minute. It was a fantastic pass from Leighton Clarkson that got him through the defense, past Carter-Vickers and into the goal. This marked Miovski's 24th goal of the season, with five of them being against both Glasgow teams combined.

It seems highly unlikely that Miovski will still be with Pittodrie next summer, unless the European football scouts have drastically changed their ways. His departure will likely come with a hefty price tag, given his age of 24, international status, and exceptional talent. He truly shone during this semi-final match, showcasing his class on the field.

During the beginning of the match, Celtic were not performing up to their usual standard. They were under intense pressure and struggled to accurately execute passes. It was a challenging time for them. Their luck changed when Angus MacDonald made a mistake that helped Celtic to tie the score.

The captain was devastated as he was attacked by Kyogo and then penalized by Nicolas Kuhn. However, the Celtic team regained their composure and took over the game. In the 62nd minute, James Forrest, who looked as youthful as ever, was substituted onto the field. He almost scored in the 63rd minute and then quickly did in the very next moment.

Celtic Aglow With Wildfires

Forrest is an exceptional Celtic athlete who joined the team when he was still young in May 2010, and he has always remained loyal to the team. He never had any interest in playing for other teams.

After he scored yet another one of those goals he's been scoring for his team consistently for 15 seasons, the desire to consult the record books arose in order to discover what kind of historical achievement this winger could potentially accomplish this season if his goal turned out to be the decisive one.

He had played 106 games for Celtic. At first, it seemed like he was going to secure his 23rd trophy. If he had, he would have been equal to Billy McNeill and not far behind Bobby Lennox in terms of the number of trophies won. However, the Dons made a remarkable comeback from a near-death situation.

When Forrest scored his first goal against Motherwell, his teammates included Morten Rasmussen, Edson Braafheid, Zheng Zhi, and Marc-Antoine Fortune. Since then, many players have come and gone from Celtic Park. The club has signed numerous wingers, some of whom were expected to replace Forrest. However, people have often claimed that Forrest's time at the club was over due to his sluggishness and injury history.

He remains present and active. During Rodgers' initial term, Forrest's performance significantly assisted Forrest. The coach aided in the development and revitalization of the player, who excelled in those years.

Forrest seemed unimportant before the manager came back, but now he's back in action. He doesn't play much, but when he does, he always has the potential to make a big impact. We can expect him to have another amazing moment in the upcoming semi-final.

But chaos reigned before this moment. The Aberdeen goal left spectators astounded, followed by Idah's shot and MacKenzie's block that had Hampden Stadium mesmerized by the intense gameplay.

The match went into overtime and both teams continued to exchange attacks. Ester Sokler, who had just scored the tying goal, had an opportunity to put her team ahead 3-2. Shortly after, Forrest, who had scored from the left earlier, displayed her creativity on the right side of the field.

The game seemed all wrapped up with Forrest passing to Alistair Johnston who then passed to Matt O'Rliey resulting in a score of 3-2. With only a few minutes left to play, it appeared the match was over, but that was not the case. The Aberdeen team got back into the game, despite being in a tough position, and even had a strong case for a penalty that was ultimately denied. They continued to play with determination and strength, overpowering Celtic.

In the past, he was deemed as a villain but now he's the hero - MacDonald headed a goal to level the score at 3-3, solidifying this as one of the most exciting Scottish Cup matches ever played. Penalty kicks were now required, adding even more suspense. The goalie suffered from cramps and another goalkeeper was given the chance to clinch the victory, yet unfortunately missed.

Afterwards came Hart. The Celtic supporters cheered for 'Super Joe'. It was impressive that they still had enough stamina in their bodies. This match was a tiring and thrilling masterpiece, nothing short of extraordinary.
