Scott Mills shared that he had to temporarily pause filming for Celebrity Race Across The World due to a severe illness he was experiencing.

The famous Radio 2 host, who is 51 years old, teamed up with his partner Sam Vaughan to compete against three other pairs of celebrities in a challenging race through South America.

As the first episode airs on Wednesday, Scott has shared that he had to stop filming for three days due to severe headaches.

He shared with Metro that he began experiencing severe headaches, something that was unusual for him. The headaches were so bad that at one point he had to cancel filming for the day.

It was clear that a medical professional was present and he ensured I had a meal and provided medication in an attempt to alleviate the issue. Unfortunately, the symptoms persisted for three days despite the treatment.

Scott Mills has shared that filming for Celebrity Race Across The World had to be temporarily halted because he was dealing with a severe illness.

Afterwards, Scott mentioned that Sam was the one who figured out what was making him sick by questioning if he had consumed any caffeine recently.

The couple confessed that Scott's daily coffee habit caused a lot of arguments on their trip through South America because it was a big strain on their limited funds.

In this celebrity-filled episode of the BBC program, Scott and Sam competed against Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi; Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy Brazier; and Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen to make it to the finish line in the quickest time.

Sam said, "I found it annoying to always be spending extra money on coffee. He would just say, 'I need it to stay awake.' So I decided to just let him have it."

Scott also mentioned that he found it difficult to handle the intense heat in South America and faced challenges with the language barrier while exploring Brazil.

The celebrity mentioned that it was very difficult not being able to use his phone during the challenge, but he has decided to keep his device locked away when he and Sam get married in October.

Following their appearance on Celebrity Race Across The World, Scott and Sam got married in a wedding ceremony in Barcelona in June.

The upcoming season of the celebrity spin-off show will showcase celebrities from Ted Lasso alongside well-known TV hosts as they compete to reach their destination with no access to phones or money.

The popular Radio 1 personality teamed up with his partner, Sam Vaughan, to compete against three other famous couples in a race through South America.

Nevertheless, as the initial episode debuts on Wednesday, Scott has disclosed that he had to halt filming for three days due to intense headaches.

In a friendly competition, Ted Lasso's Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen, will be facing off against TV presenter and broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his 20-year-old son, Freddy.

Starting with just over £1,000, they set off from Belém in Northern Brazil, the entry point to the Amazon, and will travel through five checkpoints spanning the entire length of South America.

They will put forth their best effort to make it to the end of the race in Frutillar, located in the southern region of Chile's Andes Mountains.

The celebrities will be accompanied by their family and close friends, offering a special and exclusive look into their lives from the perspective of those who are closest to them.
