‘Just swinging the weiner into your mouth:’ Columbus bar holds ‘Sausage Swinging’ contest for Oktoberfest

Sausages

A beer garden in Hilliard just embraced the Oktoberfest vibe in a fantastic way: by hosting a "Sausage Swinging" event!

HillGarten, known for its offering of beer, wine, and German-inspired small dishes in a shared outdoor atmosphere, recently hosted its Oktoberfest 2024 celebration. This event included a fun new challenge called the Sausage Swinging contest.

And that's precisely what it seems. Each contestant tied a sausage to their body by securing a piece of string around their waist, with the other end connected to the sausage. They would then move their hips to create enough movement for the sausage and try to catch it in their mouths. The winner was the first person to successfully grab the sausage with their mouth.

Here’s how HilGarten explained it:

"Simply toss the hot dog into your mouth and catch it without using your hands."

A representative from HilGarten informed 614Now that two teams of six participants each have finished, and they intend to hold the contest again in 2025. Let's hope for the best—both for us and the sausages!
