Santa Claus is preparing to fly across the planet to distribute gifts to kids all over the globe.
Annually, Norad, or the North American Aerospace Defense Command, monitors the progress of Santa Claus as he voyages around the world on his sleigh.
The custom originated in nineteen fifty-five, when a youngster dialed a Colorado army base in error, intending to talk to Santa Claus – as a department store ad in a neighborhood paper had a telephone number misprint.
The person in charge of the Air Force, Harry Shoup, was working on Christmas Eve and noticed that someone had made an error. He explained to the young person on the other end of the phone that he was actually speaking with Santa Claus.
As the night wore on and more phone calls were received, Commander Shoup designated an officer to stay on the line, creating a custom that was adopted by Norad upon its establishment in 1958.
Every year, the organization responsible for protecting and supervising the airspace above North America receives inquiries from children regarding the arrival of a chimney intruder dressed in red and white, known for his exceptional delivery itinerary.
Stay with us as we trace his journey across the globe.

Here's a possible rewrite: Lydia Patrick on December 24, 2023 at 11:45: Greetings everyone, I hope this message finds you well! As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the many things that have happened in our lives since January. It's been a challenging but also rewarding year for many of us, filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, victories and setbacks. Personally, I'm grateful for all the opportunities I've had to learn, grow, and connect with others, both in my personal and professional life. I've met new friends, taken on new responsibilities, and faced various challenges that have tested my resilience and adaptability. As we get ready to celebrate Christmas and welcome the new year, I want to encourage you to take some time to rest, recharge, and appreciate all the good things in your life. Whether you're spending time with family, catching up on your favorite books, or simply relishing the quiet moments of solitude, remember that you deserve this break and that you have plenty to be proud of. Looking ahead, I'm excited about the prospects of a new year, with all its possibilities, surprises, and adventures. I'm sure we'll face new challenges and obstacles, but I'm also confident that we'll rise to the occasion and make the most of whatever comes our way. Thank you for being part of my journey this year, and I look forward to staying in touch with you in the future. Warmest wishes, Lydia Patrick
