San Marino achieved their first ever win in a competitive match by defeating Liechtenstein 1-0 in the Nations League. This victory comes two decades after their previous win, which was also against Liechtenstein.

The Nations League D match wasn't a highly anticipated battle, as San Marino is ranked 210th by Fifa and Liechtenstein is 199th. However, Nicko Sensoli's goal in the 53rd minute will surely earn him national recognition and praise.

San Marino achieved another victory in their 69th match, defeating Liechtenstein 1-0 in a friendly game in 2004.

Their supporters have suffered through a streak of 140 games without a victory since that time, but the 19-year-old Sensoli's goal ignited exuberant festivities at the San Marino stadium.

San Marino achieves victory in a game after over 20 years and wins a competitive match for the first time in history!

A major milestone was achieved when the lowest-ranked team in FIFA (210th) broke their record for the longest streak without a win in international football (140 games since April 2004)!!! ???????????? #historicmoment

Sensoli was still a baby when San Marino last won a game. It took a while for the game to end, with an extra eight minutes added on before the win was official. This victory put the home team at the top of Group 1, which also has Gibraltar as part of the competition.

At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo reached a total of 900 goals when he scored in Portugal's 2-1 win against Croatia in the Nations League.

The player, aged 39, showed a lot of feelings after scoring the goal in the 34th minute of the match in Lisbon, making a goal from Nuno Mendes' pass.

The goal, which was Ronaldo's first since June, increased his already record-breaking number of international goals to 131.

That doubled Portugal's lead after Diogo Dalot scored first, but the Manchester United player accidentally scored an own goal before halftime, adding tension to the second half.

In another place, Spain, the champions of Europe, played to a draw with Serbia in Belgrade without scoring any goals. Switzerland also had Nico Elvedi and Granit Xhaka receive red cards in their 2-0 loss to Denmark.

Patrick Dorgu scored the first goal in the 82nd minute, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored the second goal after Xhaka was sent off for receiving a second yellow card.

Alexander Isak, who plays for Newcastle, scored two goals in Sweden's 3-1 win against Azerbaijan. Slovakia also won their match against Estonia with a 1-0 score, while a 10-man Bulgaria team managed to draw 0-0 with Belarus.
