Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin, stars of Strictly Come Dancing, had to say goodbye to the dance floor after being the most recent couple eliminated from the BBC One program on Sunday.
The pair expressed that they felt completely devastated by the outcome, which many viewers have called a "disgrace."
Following an emotional segment where professional dancer Amy Dowden was moved to tears by her temporary stand-in’s incredible performance with JB Gill, the results of the show on Sunday (November 3) revealed that Gladiators star Montell Jordan found himself in the bottom two, alongside hockey player Sam Quek.
Despite their efforts, it was Quek and her dance partner Nikita Kuzmin who were eliminated by all four judges following the challenging dance-off.
Quek openly expressed her disappointment, telling host Tess Daly that she was "devastated" by her departure from the competition. She elaborated on her feelings, saying, "I'm really upset because I believe I still have more to offer."
In a subsequent post on Facebook about her exit from the show, Quek expressed, "It's never pleasant to lose in a dance-off. Honestly, the competitive side of me dislikes it, but I have to admit that Montell is the superior dancer. This is a dance competition, so it’s only fair."
She said that the show helped her regain her enthusiasm after a few years of feeling rather subdued. However, she also mentioned that it was harder than she expected. Despite putting in all the effort she could, she found herself consistently near the bottom of the leaderboard each week.
Quek stated, “I want to emphasize that I understood what I was getting into. When I make a commitment, I invest all my effort into it for as long as necessary. I don’t regret the energy and dedication I put into this journey. That’s why I can’t feel too upset about moving on. I put forth my best effort, and even though I didn’t achieve everything I aimed for, I am fine with that because I know I couldn’t have done any more.”
In the results segment, Quek acknowledged a misunderstanding she had as a viewer of the show. She shared with Daly, "I've often thought while watching the competition, 'How can they have that kind of connection as a celebrity and a dancer?'"
"The time you share together and the way you bring out the best in one another is truly special. I know it might sound a bit cliché, but it really does feel like magic."

As the 20th season of the BBC dance competition reaches its midpoint, some celebrities who were anticipated to advance further are now facing elimination and heading home.
