Sam Fender has put a countdown timer on his official site.

The Geordie musician has been hinting about his upcoming third studio album for a while, but he's now provided fans with a timeline for when they can expect an announcement.

Check out a snapshot of the countdown featured on his website from Tuesday, October 15th, which was captured around the same time this article was released.

The two dates suggest that there will be an announcement on Friday, October 18th, at approximately 10 AM, with another update expected the following week.

Fans are encouraged to sign up for a new email list to prepare for upcoming updates. After completing the registration, they'll receive a message saying, "Alright! Thanks for signing up. Stay tuned for news soon."

Fans are starting to wonder if this might signal an announcement for a new album, as well as some potential news about a tour coming soon.

Sam's recent performance follows his earlier announcement that his album is finished and "perfected."

The Geordie singer took to Instagram to post various photos and videos from the recording process, captioning it with: “mastered x.”

The collection of photos and videos features Fender wearing his guitar, shots of the recording studio, his saxophonist Johnny Blue Hat, and Adam Granduciel from The War On Drugs playing keyboard. It also includes live clips of Fender performing on stage.

Fans have had to wait quite a while for the third album following the success of Hypersonic Missiles in 2019 and Seventeen Going Under in 2021, both of which topped the UK Albums Chart.

The singer-songwriter has explained in detail why he preferred to take his time with the album instead of hurrying it.

During an appearance on Sky Arts' show featuring Johnson and Knopfler's Music Legends, he shared, "We’ve been in the studio working on a lot of material, but I reached a stage where I realized, ‘There’s no rush to release this. We should focus on perfecting it first.’"

The winner of the BRITs Critics Choice award mentioned, “For the second album, we hurried to release it, and we began to rush the third one too. But then I realized, 'We need to take our time with this.'”

"I aim to achieve the highest quality in my work. I'd prefer it to take longer and be exceptional rather than finish quickly and have it turn out poorly."

"I'm really thrilled with what we've accomplished so far, but I want to spend a little more time refining it and giving it some extra consideration."
