During the women's race, Aanholt and Annette almost made a mistake by heading towards the wrong finish line. They had to quickly drop their kite and recover when they realized their error, allowing Sweden to sail past them and reach the correct finish line first. Despite this mishap, the Dutch pair managed to cross the finish line in third place, securing the first sailing Gold medal of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In the men's 49er race, three boats were penalized for starting early, including Ireland, who were in contention for the silver medal.

Britain came in 7th place in the men's event and 16th place in the women's event.

The top competitors in the 49erFX Women's division maintain their lead after the final race for the medals.
