Sabrina Carpenter fans fume over 'insane' UK tour ticket prices
British supporters of Sabrina Carpenter have gone onto social networking sites to express their disappointment with the American vocalist regarding the cost of tickets for her upcoming European tour in 2025.
Tickets for the European portion of the Short n' Sweet Tour by the Espresso singer went on sale this Tuesday. The tour will include stops in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, and Manchester in March of next year.
Shortly after the pre-sale was announced, a large number of people hurried to join the online line. They were not only competing for a chance to get a desirable ticket but also dealing with extremely high prices.
Many people posted on X, previously known as Twitter, to show photos of the high prices of tickets, some costing nearly £240 - and saying that she isn't popular enough yet to charge such high prices.
A fan wrote: "I can't believe they're charging £240 for nosebleed seats to see Sabrina Carpenter. That's crazy haha. She's talented, but she's only had two popular songs. I paid half that to see Taylor Swift from the nosebleeds, and even then I thought it was expensive. But at least with Taylor, you get a three-hour show and 18 years worth of hit songs."
"Charging over £200 for seats at a Sabrina concert is completely unreasonable. There is no justification for concert tickets to be priced so high," another person remarked.
A carpenter was seen at the BBC Radio1 Big Weekend event in Luton.
Another person commented: "Paying £240 to be seated in the highest section to watch Sabrina Carpenter at the O2 - an artist who only has two popular songs and two other moderately successful ones. It's absolutely disgraceful."
"I can't believe Sabrina Carpenter tickets are being sold for £230 for seats way in the back, it's outrageous! She only has about 5 songs, so why are the prices so high? Nosebleed seats are even more expensive than Beyoncé's front-row tickets. This just doesn't make any sense." Another person expressed their frustration.
The carpenter is not the sole creative individual who has encountered criticism for increasing ticket costs.
In the upcoming year, the 22-year-old will begin a tour of shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This tour will feature five shows at London's O2 Arena, two shows in Glasgow, four shows in Manchester, and two shows in Dublin.
However, when tickets became available for purchase, many supporters were surprised by the price, deeming it exorbitant given the current cost of living crisis.
A fan was upset about the high ticket prices for Billie Eilish's tour and said they were too expensive. They think artists should charge fair prices so more people can attend the concerts and not feel excluded from the music industry.
Another person agreed, saying: "I find the cost of Billie Eilish tickets to be really disheartening."
Another person commented: "I just saw how expensive the Billie Eilish tickets are. It's crazy. It would be great if people stopped paying these high prices. If this continues, in 3 years, you could be paying 200 pounds for a regular standing ticket to any arena concert."
