The temporary head coach is stepping down after overseeing four matches for United, as the new manager Ruben Amorim comes to Manchester.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's time at Manchester United has officially concluded, as announced by the club just one day after the Dutchman guided the team to a 3-0 win against Leicester City in his fourth match as interim manager.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's exit was revealed on Monday, coinciding with Ruben Amorim's arrival in Manchester to take over as the new permanent manager of United.

“Ruud will forever be regarded as a legend of Manchester United,” the club remarked in an official statement.

"We appreciate everything he has done and the manner in which he has handled his responsibilities during his time with the club. He will always have a warm welcome at Old Trafford."

On Monday, United's assistants Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel parted ways with the club. The Old Trafford management stated that they would reveal Amorim's coaching team at a later date.

The 48-year-old van Nistelrooy had guided United to three victories and a draw across all tournaments following Erik ten Hag's dismissal. The ex-United forward has mentioned on multiple occasions that he would like to continue with the team after Amorim joins.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and three of our first-team coaches have left the club, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

When he arrived in Manchester, the 39-year-old Amorim was welcomed with an embrace from Chief Executive Omar Berrada.

The Portuguese coach will be meeting with important team members while he waits for his visa, which will allow him to take the field as a coach. The club mentioned that the visa should arrive soon.

Van Nistelrooy became part of ten Hag's coaching team during the summer and later stepped in as the temporary manager. Following the team's win on Sunday, he was celebrated by fans at Old Trafford.

"The moment was truly special for me. Everything just fell into place, creating a beautiful experience. I felt a deep sense of gratitude towards them, and the warm welcome I received was beyond what I could have imagined," the Dutchman reflected on the response he got after Sunday’s match.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was a standout player during van Nistelrooy's time, scoring four times in four matches, a remarkable turnaround after not finding the net in his prior 17 under ten Hag.

Van Nistelrooy mentioned that he played a role in bringing back stability and confidence to the club, which currently stands 13th in the league with 15 points after 11 games. However, they are only four points behind the team in third place.

"Van Nistelrooy commented on Sunday that the last four matches showed solid teamwork and a positive attitude among the players, all of whom were focused on achieving success. He emphasized that securing four positive outcomes in these games was very significant for him."
