After celebrating a fantastic beginning to his time as Leicester's manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy decided to reward himself with a beer.

Van Nistelrooy's inaugural match as head coach concluded with a 3-1 victory against West Ham, featuring goals from Jamie Vardy, Bilal El Khannouss, and Patson Daka.

The Dutchman, who was unemployed for only two weeks after his brief four-game tenure as the interim manager of Manchester United, just began his new role on Sunday. He was pleased to wrap up a busy three days on a high note.

"It's been quite hectic getting acquainted with everyone and beginning our collaboration," he mentioned.

"Everyone pitched in and it was a hectic time with long hours, but it was definitely worth it. I concentrated on the game and what it required, including substitutions and the half-time discussion. I was really in the zone, so now I’m going to treat myself to a beer and think back on the past three days."

He had an incredible beginning, with Vardy finding the net just 98 seconds into the match, followed by El Khannouss and Daka contributing goals in the second half.

It definitely wasn't a one-sided game, as West Ham managed to take 30 shots on goal, including a late consolation goal from Niclas Fullkrug.

However, Van Nistelrooy was convinced he has what it takes to achieve his goal of maintaining the Foxes' status in the Premier League.

"I’m really thrilled with the outcome. When you consider the results, it was an amazing evening. We secured three points, scored three excellent goals, and played very efficiently."

Overall, we witnessed moments when West Ham showcased their dominance and created significant opportunities during the game. That's an undeniable fact that we need to consider.

In general, I hoped to see the players united and driven, filled with energy and determination as they battled for every opportunity.

"All eleven players on the field are putting in the effort as a strong base for the rest of the Premier League season. I witnessed that determination in every player who began the match and those who came on as substitutes."

"That's the base we need to establish; without it, reaching our goals would be impossible. I'm really pleased with this."

The management at West Ham has likely recognized how much a change in the coaching staff can affect a team's performance. The situation with Julen Lopetegui is still uncertain, especially since away supporters expressed their dissatisfaction by chanting, "You’re getting sacked in the morning."

Lopetegui believes he will retain his position, but the upcoming matches against his old team Wolves, as well as Bournemouth, Brighton, and Southampton, may play a crucial role in deciding the Spaniard's fate.

“The only thing I’m concerned about is heading to practice tomorrow, facing the players, and getting ready for the upcoming challenge,” he mentioned.

"We have a busy December ahead with plenty of games, and I believe that if we maintain this mindset, we can earn many more points."

“I have faith in our players. I’m sure that we will be well-prepared for the next game tomorrow.”

"While we recognize the question, we may have a different perspective by the end of the season. There are numerous games and points at stake, and a lot can change."

"I have confidence in the players and our team, and I am certain that we will improve our standing. While these are just words, it’s crucial that we put in the effort to make it happen."
