Classic FM, the leading classical music station in the UK, is set to honor some of the greatest blockbuster movie soundtracks ever made with an exciting new concert at London's Royal Albert Hall. This event will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7:30 PM.

The inaugural Classic FM Live at the Movies event with Viking comes after the debut of Classic FM’s new sibling station, Classic FM Movies, which started broadcasting in September and features the best film soundtracks around the clock.

Classic FM Live at the Movies with Viking will showcase the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, an official partner of Classic FM. The orchestra, led by conductor Anthony Gabriele, will be joined by an impressive array of exceptional musicians for special performances.

Led by Classic FM hosts, the night will feature a fantastic selection of famous film music, including themes from Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Harry Potter, Mission: Impossible, The Lord of the Rings, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. A breathtaking finale will showcase the performers, enhanced by striking lights and fireworks.

The concert is backed by Viking (NYSE: VIK), a key partner of Classic FM and a prominent name in experiential travel. They specialize in offering unique travel experiences centered around rivers, oceans, and lakes across the globe.

For over twenty years, Classic FM has been hosting classical music performances at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London. This year, the concert will be recorded and aired on Classic FM and Global Player on Friday, April 25th at 7 PM, with a later broadcast planned for Sky Arts later in the year.

In addition to funding the Classic FM Live concert series at the Royal Albert Hall, along with initiatives like the Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year Awards and the Nation’s Favourite Carol, Viking proudly supports Global’s Make Some Noise. This initiative helps raise funds for small, local charities that are making a difference throughout the UK. Classic FM is available for streaming on all Viking ships around the globe.

"After the recent debut of our new sister station, Classic FM Movies, we're thrilled to introduce our upcoming live concert – Classic FM Live at the Movies with Viking – a celebration of film scores. Featuring the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and an impressive roster of soloists, this event promises to be an unforgettable night showcasing the most iconic blockbuster soundtracks, held at our venue for live Classic FM events, the Royal Albert Hall." - Philip Noyce, Managing Editor of Classic FM.

Wendy Atkin-Smith, the Managing Director of Viking UK, commented, “In 2025, we will celebrate a decade of our partnership with the Classic FM Live concert series at the Royal Albert Hall. This event is something that both our Viking guests and UK team members eagerly anticipate. Many of our guests are passionate about films and love exploring real filming locations, such as the stunning landscapes of New Zealand that served as the backdrop for The Lord of the Rings, or the Liechtenstein Palace in Prague, which appeared in the 1996 film Mission: Impossible. We are already excited about the upcoming concert in April, which will showcase some of the most iconic movie soundtracks in the magnificent setting of the historic Royal Albert Hall.”

Tickets can be purchased starting Wednesday, December 11th, at 10 AM through Global Player or by calling the Royal Albert Hall box office at 020 7589 8212.
