Moscow Community Distributes Rosh Hashanah Essentials - Anash.org
In preparation for Rosh Hashanah, every family and individual in need in Moscow was given a substantial food basket thanks to a successful program led by Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia.
This year, significant efforts were undertaken in Moscow to make sure that every family and individual in need receives a larger food package for Rosh Hashanah. The Kimcha D’Tishrei initiative, which is based on the custom of sharing food before the holiday, experienced a notable rise in both donations and the amount of food distributed.
With the efforts of Rabbi Berel Lazar, the Chief Rabbi of Russia, and the kind contributions from the community, countless families in Moscow benefited from substantial food packages filled with meat, poultry, fish, wine, oil, fresh fruits, vegetables, and other essentials. Rabbi Lazar took the time to visit the Shaarei Tzedek Jewish Community Center to supervise the distribution and to thank the volunteers and donors for their support.
In a heartfelt message to the Jewish community, Rabbi Lazar highlighted the significance of giving to charity and coming together, particularly in tough times. He urged everyone to welcome the new year with a sense of optimism and fresh beginnings.
The Kimcha D’Tishrei initiative plays a vital role in supplying necessary food resources, allowing everyone in the community to honor Rosh Hashanah with respect and happiness.
