Romania started off strong, moving quickly through the midfield and into the attack. Razvan Marin excelled on the right side, playing well with Denis Dragus and Ianis Hagi. Despite their strong performance, they were not able to take advantage of their control of the game, allowing the Netherlands to turn the tide in their favor.

Jerdy Schouten made a great pass to Xavi Simons, who quickly passed it to Cody Gakpo. Gakpo, from Liverpool, made a skillful shot that beat Florin Nita to score the first goal. Towards the end of the match, Gakpo kept the ball in play and assisted Donyell Malen for the second goal for the Netherlands. Malen then secured the win with a goal during a counter-attack in stoppage time.

Romania's fight came to an end, but they can be proud of their performance in the tournament. The Dutch team is moving on to the quarter-finals with a lot of belief in themselves.

But how well did each player do on their own? Here are the ratings given by The Independent for the match between Romania and Netherlands:

Florin Nita – Part 5.

Could have done a better job defending against Cody Gakpo's goal that went in at the near post, but managed to make some good saves in the second half.

Andrei Ratiu is six years old.

Didn't manage to stop Gakpo from scoring as he cut inside, but recovered nicely after that. Made a great save against Memphis Depay in the second half.

Radu Dragusin, who is seven years old.

He served as the leader and usually the final line of defense for Romania. He stopped a shot from Tijjani Reijnders and made a well-timed sliding tackle to take the ball from Depay. He was frequently seen cleaning up in the defensive area, providing cover for his teammates.

Skilled in aerial battles, but occasionally struggled when defending against set pieces against Stefan de Vrij. Showed promise as a reliable central defender next to Radu Dragusin.

Vasile Mogos - Number 3

Romania needed assistance on their defense against the fast passing plays from Steven Bergwijn, Depay, and Denzel Dumfries. They suffered a strong blow in the first half and had to leave the game before halftime.

Marius Marin - Part 5 In this installment, we will delve further into Marius Marin's journey and explore new developments in his story. Stay tuned for an exciting update on Marius's latest adventures.

Dennis Man - fifth place

Dribbled in from the right side and took a powerful shot that went over the crossbar in the beginning of the first half while Romania were controlling the game. However, disappeared from the game after Gakpo scored a goal.

Nicolae Stanciu – Six.

He took a few opportunities to take free kicks and send impressive passes into the penalty area. Unfortunately, his teammates were unable to capitalize on the chances he created.

Overcame a slight injury to be able to play in the game and proved to be a strong asset for Romania, pushing forward and delivering accurate crosses into the penalty area.

Even though he got hit on the head at the start, he developed a good connection with Razvan Marin and wasn't afraid to challenge the Dutch defense. He ended up playing as a left-back, but struggled to effectively stop Dumfries.

He put in a lot of effort and ran a lot during the game, but he wasn't able to score, which is his main job. He had a chance to shoot, but his shot was too weak and went straight into the goalkeeper's hands. Romania needed him to score, but he couldn't convert the opportunities he had.

Bogdan Racovitan scored 7 goals, Valentin Mihaila scored 6 goals, Denis Alibec also scored 6 goals, and Alexandru Cicaldau scored 6 goals. Darius Olaru's goal count is not available.

I didn't have much to do after the first 20 minutes, but I didn't make any mistakes, so that's all that matters.

Denzel Dumfries scored a 7 in the latest match.

Solid defensive effort succeeded in preventing Ianis Hagi from receiving a cross promptly and resulted in a minor injury to the Romanian forward as they both competed for the ball. A significant danger on the wings when advancing up the field and delivering crosses into the penalty area.

Here we will talk about Stefan de Vrij's performance in the game with a score of 6.

He struck a corner kick that just missed the goal. Skillfully protected his own goal area and advanced the ball into the middle of the field, knowing that his teammate Virgil van Dijk would provide defensive support.
