Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola mentioned that he did not know how serious Rodri's injury was after he was taken off during the 2-2 tie with Arsenal.

The City midfielder was taken off the field early in the first half, raising worries among fans.

In the first moments of the match at the Etihad, Rodri went down to the ground following what seemed to be a collision with Kai Havertz. However, the replays from the broadcast didn't provide much clarity on the situation.

The Spanish player, often considered one of the best in the past year, played a key role in Manchester City's dominance in English football, and his national team clinched the European Championship this summer. He managed to keep the momentum going, and shortly after, Erling Haaland scored to put his team ahead within nine minutes.

The objective was to mark the Norwegian's 100th goal for Manchester City.

A little while later, City found themselves defending a corner kick, and Rodri was vying for position with Arsenal’s Thomas Partey. When the two came into contact, it appeared that the 28-year-old twisted his right leg.

He quickly grabbed his leg and appeared visibly upset due to the injury. A few minutes later, Guardiola had to take him off the field.

In an interview with Sky Sports following the match, Guardiola couldn't provide any updates, stating, "I'm not sure about his condition. I haven't talked to the medical staff."

Rodri is among several players who have voiced worries about the heavy workload of matches they are required to play for their teams, national squads, and different football governing organizations.

He was substituted for former Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic just before Arsenal equalized with a goal from their new player Riccardo Calafiori.
