The artist behind "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" is the first performer to be revealed.

He announced the exciting news on Instagram, saying: "I’m beyond excited to share that I’ll be performing at Glastonbury Festival 2025! After all this time, I feel proud, prepared, and more than capable of stepping back onto the stage to entertain and delight my friends at Glastonbury this June. Can't wait to see you all there!"

Sir Rod will celebrate his 80th birthday during the festival, which is scheduled to occur from June 25 to June 29 next year at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Emily Eavis, one of the festival organizers, posted the same photo of Sir Rod shortly after, expressing her excitement: "Having Sir Rod Stewart return for the Sunday afternoon performance at the Pyramid Stage is exactly what we hoped for. It’s the perfect way to conclude with the last legends spot before we take a break for a year. We're really looking forward to it!"

In 2026, Glastonbury will take a break, as the festival usually occurs four times every five years. The fifth year is set aside for restoring the land.

Sir Rod, famous for songs like "Maggie May," "You Wear It Well," and "Sailing," previously headlined the festival in 2002, sharing the stage with Coldplay and Stereophonics and wrapping up the event on Sunday night.

Sir Rod gained recognition as the lead singer of the Faces in the 1970s, performing alongside Ronnie Wood, who is now a guitarist for the Rolling Stones, as well as Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane, and Kenney Jones. The band was formed following the dissolution of the Small Faces.

He has also played and recorded alongside the Jeff Beck Group, contributing to the albums "Truth" and "Beck-Ola."

Sir Rod has achieved 25 singles that reached the top 10 in the UK and has released 38 top 10 albums as a solo performer. His career has lasted for six decades.

In 2016, he received a knighthood at Buckingham Palace in recognition of his contributions to music and charitable work, and he is also a member of the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Last week, Sir Rod declared that he will be stopping his "extensive global tours," but he indicated that he has no intention of retiring.

The highly sought-after Sunday afternoon legends spot has been held in the past by artists such as Kylie Minogue, Dame Shirley Bassey, Diana Ross, and Yusuf/Cat Stevens. This year, it's Canadian singer Shania Twain's turn to take the stage.

At the beginning of this month, general admission tickets were gone within just 35 minutes. A new process allowed buyers to receive a "random spot in line" rather than needing to refresh the waiting page once it became active.

All canceled or returned tickets will be available for resale in the spring of 2025.
