Kovalev plays a big role in organizing Robin Windsor: The Final Act, a special show at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in November. The event is raising funds for SANE, a mental health charity that was important to Windsor.

"What, How, Why?"

Pasha Kovalev honored his former colleague from Strictly Come Dancing, Robin Windsor (pictured on the left), who passed away in 2024.

Kovalev talked about how he and Windsor originally met while performing on the Burn the Floor dance tour, traveling to different countries. They crossed paths again in 2011 when Kovalev became part of the Strictly dance show.

Kovalev expressed fondness for Robin, noting that every person who had the pleasure of meeting him held him in high regard. He described Robin as a kind and warm-hearted individual, recalling the numerous collaborations and performances they shared together.

He said: "I was really surprised and saddened to hear about his death. It made me wonder if there was anything more I could have done as a friend. Should I have spent more time with him, talked to him more, or sent him more messages?"

As a result, my initial reaction was to treasure the moments I shared with him. I wanted to reunite with old friends, reminisce about him, recall the joy he experienced during better times, and revisit the activities he was passionate about.

Kovalev is playing a key role in organizing the tribute concert, with Anton Du Beke and Lisa Riley, Windsor's previous dance partner on Strictly, set to host the event. Don't miss out on getting your tickets for the show today.

"We are reflecting on the fond memories of Robin and his passions: singing, dancing, and musical theater," Kovalev shared. "It will be an emotional performance, but I believe it's a meaningful way for us to honor Robin's memory and keep him in our hearts."

Kovalev also talked about the controversy surrounding Strictly Come Dancing when he was on the show. Many celebrities have accused their professional dance partners of mistreatment. The most well-known accusation came from Amanda Abbington against Giovanni Pernice.

Kovalev expressed his sadness and shock at the current situation we find ourselves in. He emphasized the importance of finding solutions to prevent such occurrences in the future. Many individuals may be skeptical or feel unheard when speaking out. He stressed the need to create a supportive environment where everyone's voice is valued and where all can feel safe and enjoy their experiences.

The blog post talked about how all the women on Loose Women had previously been on Strictly Come Dancing. They all shared their own stories from their time on the show. Penny Lancaster, who danced with Ian Waite in 2007, said she had a really good time and mentioned how there were cameras in rehearsals.

"I remember always seeing a camera set up on a tripod in the rehearsal space. I never felt like I was by myself," Lancaster recalled, with Kaye Adams adding that they didn't have that when she participated in 2022.

Lancaster mentioned that the video was always around during rehearsals, even though the actors weren't actively thinking about it.

In the blog, Lancaster likened the camera in the rehearsal space to a police body camera, which is meant to safeguard everyone involved. He emphasized the importance of camera footage as vital evidence.

Pernice refutes all claims made against him, and the BBC released a statement emphasizing the importance of confidentiality and due process for all involved in a complaint. The network takes such matters seriously and has established procedures to address them. They request that people refrain from engaging in speculation.
