Many people have expressed their condolences and love for Robin Windsor, who was a former professional in the popular television show Strictly Come Dancing. Unfortunately, he passed away at the young age of 44.

The BBC has been receiving messages from fans who have seen and encountered the dancer, sharing their recollections of him.

"Masterful Performer & Instructor"

Five years ago, Jennifer Podesta reminisced about signing up for dance lessons at a vacation spot in St. Lucia.

She mentioned that there were multiple opportunities to collaborate with him and provide him with extra focus.

We have fond memories of his excellent choreography to the Charleston that brought us so much joy. He even found humor in my husband's faulty timing and playfully kicked me in the shins, and we all had a good laugh. He had a humble and friendly demeanor, making him easy to approach and talk to.

"How heartbreaking to hear that his time was cut short. The world has lost someone incredibly talented in their craft, a mentor, creator of dance moves and someone who was genuinely authentic."

Fun, Generosity & Patience: A Winning Combination

Sarah, a different supporter, was also taught by the celebrity while they were in St Lucia.

According to her, he had the ability to dance at the level of Strictly but he imparted patience, generosity, and enjoyment of the dance to every student, regardless of their lack of skill. This resulted in a truly delightful experience.

During our time dancing in the island beach hut, he always maintained the utmost professionalism. He approached each dance with the same level of dedication and commitment as if it were a high-pressure performance. Instead of criticizing our skills, he focused on fostering an environment of growth, progress, and enjoyment.

This was a case of a skilled educator, a delightful individual, and honestly someone stunning to see as well. I sympathize with his loved ones who are grieving the loss of their shining star.

In 2016, Chrissy Webb participated in a course organized by Windsor that featured a Strictly Come Dancing theme, while on a cruise.

The room was filled with other travelers who were eager to acquire knowledge. He was full of enthusiasm, showed patience and provided motivation for both novices and those with experience.

"I consider myself fortunate to have had a brief dance with him, a moment that I cherish. He was a radiant star who will be deeply mourned."

He Became Our Friend

Jill Marshall boogied down in her kitchen while attending online classes held by Windsor amidst the Covid pandemic. She fondly reflected on how Windsor managed to keep everyone in good spirits and physically active during such a challenging period.

At times, Robin would halt the class to release his canine companion, Luka, through the kitchen door. Through such acts, we sensed that he was close to us as a friend.

During Christmas, Mia Longman acted together with Windsor in a pantomime performance located in Lowestoft, Suffolk. Mia Longman stated that the cast and crew can confidently claim that Windsor played an integral role in making the pantomime a success.

In the production of Aladdin, the role of the genie was portrayed by Windsor. He added a great amount of joy, enchantment, and amusement to the performance. It was as if a genie from real life had come to join the production.

"He was an incredibly kind, giving, and affectionate individual who will be greatly missed by everyone. Thank you for leaving a little bit of shine in my life and in the lives of countless others. May you rest peacefully, Robin, and continue dancing."

Out, So I Ordered A New One!

In the year 2012, Ann Bevan was an audience member at a Dance To The Music show in Bristol. The show featured performances by Windsor, Kristina Rihanoff, Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev. While watching the show, Ann Bevan was invited to join the performers on stage and participate in the show.

She shared that Robin appeared to be overheated as his excessive application of fake tan was dripping down his face and staining his white shirt. However, he seemed unperturbed by the situation.

I had to replicate his actions and eventually, after getting approval from the audience's measuring equipment, I had to spontaneously choreograph a routine to a tune I hadn't heard before. Robin urged me on, and I emerged victorious in the following measuring equipment poll.

She mentioned: "Happy memories during this difficult time. I am deeply saddened to hear that he passed away at a young age. He had a superb talent in dance and had a warm and charming personality. It's a heartbreaking loss for the dance community."

Amazing Dancer, Kind-hearted Gentleman

Mini Biswas, who is from London, crossed paths with Robin during a tech gathering in November. She admired his cheerful and optimistic demeanor, and was particularly impressed with his live dance performance that brought joy to everyone in the room. Sadly, Robin left this world too early. Rest in peace, Robin.

At the same time, Clare Moat caught a glimpse of him putting on a show with his fellow Strictly dancers in Here Come The Boys at the London Palladium in 2021.

She expressed that it was the initial performance they had viewed following the pandemic. The experience was truly excellent, as the person they witnessed was a remarkable dancer and a wonderful individual. She wished to extend her condolences and thoughts to his loved ones. May Robin rest in peace as he will be sincerely missed.

Supporters and acquaintances are also expressing their condolences on online platforms.
