Role: Content Creator and Host
Reverend Richard Coles is an author, radio host, and clergyman. He became well-known in the 1980s as a member of the band the Communards, which had three hits that reached the top 10 in the UK, including the popular song "Don't Leave Me This Way."
Since that time, Coles has been featured on a number of radio and television programs, such as BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live, QI, Would I Lie to You?, and Have I Got News for You.
Phobias: "I’m not really comfortable with heights, but I’d prefer if they didn’t know!"
The main misunderstanding you’d like to clear up in the jungle: "Nothing at all. People are entitled to their opinions. It’s a free country."
Ideal travel buddy: "Kevin De Bruyne – I might feel a little shy if I encountered him, but I truly believe he is the finest football player on the planet."
Richard Coles On Joining I'm A Celebrity 2024
Richard is transitioning from the Brazilian Amazon rainforest to the I'm a Celebrity jungle, but his main concern is not being able to identify any of his fellow contestants!
"I just arrived from Brazil and the Amazon to take part in this, as I've been giving a few talks over there. It's more challenging to join in later since some groups have already started to form," he said.
"I'm really anxious about stepping into that environment and not being able to recognize anyone. Imagine striking up a conversation with a world-renowned influencer without even realizing it! That could be quite challenging. Additionally, I'm concerned about how I'll manage with the idea of only consuming 500 calories a day. To me, that's usually just a light snack!"
He went on to say, "Having spent time in Brazil and the Amazon, I'm well prepared for the jungle. I feel a mix of nerves and excitement, but I took the offer because this is exactly what I enjoy. Plus, I'm familiar with Ant and Dec; Dec and I both adore dachshunds! We've exchanged pictures of our pups in the past."
