He started his professional journey in 2011 and gained widespread popularity with his 2013 song "Type of Way."

TMZ reported that the Fulton County morgue confirmed his passing. His loved ones are devastated and filled with sadness.

The reason for the death has not been revealed.

Quan, originally named Dequantes Lamar, was born in Atlanta, Georgia in October 1989. He went to Ronald McNair Sr. High School and dreamed of being a professional baseball player when he was young. His skills as a center fielder and leadoff hitter got him a scholarship to Fort Valley State University, but he had to leave after only two weeks because he couldn't afford the tuition.

After his stint at the airport, Lamar unfortunately found himself unemployed and turned to committing burglaries. This led to him being incarcerated for 15 months.

Upon his release from prison, Lamar immersed himself in the world of music. His track "Type of Way," released in 2013, catapulted him into the spotlight, followed by another successful hit with "Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)" in 2015.

At that time, he had joined forces with Birdman, the founder of Cash Money Records, and another rapper named Young Thug to form the group Rich Gang. They achieved success with their hit song "Lifestyle" in 2014.

In November 2016, Lamar filed a lawsuit against his old record label Think It’s A Game for $2 million, claiming he was owed money in royalties. In response, the label counter-sued him for breaking their contract. Eventually, both parties reached an agreement outside of court to settle the legal dispute.

In 2018, Lamar put out his first official album titled Rich as in Spirit.

Another rapper, Playboi Carti, honored Lamar by sharing multiple photos and videos of him on his Instagram story.
