Local Remembrance Day events
People from various areas of the borough will gather this weekend to commemorate the sacrifices made by servicemen and women who have lost their lives or are still giving their services. The nearby town and parish councils are in charge of arranging various events for Remembrance Day.
The Binfield Parish Council has arranged for a Remembrance Service to be held outdoors. This will involve placing wreaths on the memorial situated at St Mark's Church. The service is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm and will be held at the church located on Popeswood Road with the postcode RG42 4AH.
The Binfield Parish Council arranged a special event for Remembrance Day. The parade will commence from the Oakmede shops car park at 9:30 AM and it will move towards All Saints’ Church passing through Terrace Road North. This will lead to the church service that is scheduled to begin at 10:15 AM.
At 11:15 AM, the procession will start from the church and reach the parking area of Oakmede shops by 11:45 AM.
During the parade time, the Terrace Road North will not be accessible.
Come one, come all! The esteemed Mayor of Sandhurst, Cllr Ray Mossom, cordially invites every resident to be present for the commemorative Civic Service at Sandhurst Memorial Park on Yorktown Road, starting precisely at 10:45am this year. Don't miss it!
There will be a brief pause of two minutes at 11 o'clock and then people will place circular floral arrangements to honor the fallen. Musical performances will be provided by the Sandhurst Silver Band, St Michael’s Church Choir, and the Sandhurst and District Corps of Drums.
There will be limited parking available. The stretch of Yorktown Road, which passes by Memorial Park and lies between Wellington Road and Park Road, will be shut off to cars starting at 10:40am during the Remembrance March. Drivers will have to follow a different route.
The local government of Bracknell Town is hosting a commemorative march known as the Bracknell Town Remembrance Parade. This event will be held from 10:30 in the morning until 12:30 in the afternoon, starting from The Angel War Memorial, and proceeding through The Lexicon towards the Holy Trinity Church.
