Coleen Rooney makes final jibe at WAG rival Rebekah Vardy as she finishes runner-up on I'm A...

Rebekah Vardy

Coleen Rooney threw a subtle insult at Rebekah Vardy during the finale of I'm A Celebrity on Sunday.

Before securing the runner-up position, the 38-year-old WAG chatted with Ant and Dec about her experiences in the Jungle, and the conversation soon shifted to her abilities as a detective.

Coleen gained widespread attention when she cleverly figured out that her private information was being passed to The Sun newspaper through Rebekah Vardy's social media account, earning her the nickname Wagatha Christie.

Reflecting on her detective abilities during the finale, Declan Donnelly commented, "We did attempt to deceive you with a few clever tricks, but you always managed to see through them. You're always a step ahead of us."

Ant McPartlin commented, "She really excels at this... have you always had that intuition?"

With a playful smile, Coleen referenced her Wagatha Christie nickname as she said, "Yep, I've done that! I'm pretty good at uncovering things!"

Lifting her eyebrows, she went on to say, "I have a knack for assessing people accurately..."

During the finale of I'm A Celebrity on Sunday, Coleen Rooney hinted at Rebekah Vardy with a subtle remark, stating that she has a knack for picking up on things and can assess people effectively.

While in the jungle, Coleen realized that Danny Jones had made up a story about seeing a koala to divert their attention while he was carrying out a covert operation.

The mother of four was actually the first to realize that Maura Higgins, Reverend Richard Coles, and Dean McCullough were not being truthful about their supposed terrible living conditions in The Junkyard.

After facing the three of them, Dean eagerly referred to her well-known nickname, exclaiming, “Wagatha Christie does it again!”

It's been five years since the beginning of the Wagatha Christie saga—a bizarre, undeniably trivial, yet utterly fascinating legal drama that captured the country's attention.

It’s hard to believe that a conflict sparked by just one Instagram post could evolve into one of the most remarkable celebrity stories of the 21st century.

Rebekah initially filed a lawsuit against Coleen for defamation, accusing her of leaking stories to the media. However, Coleen ultimately emerged victorious in their intense rivalry when a judge ruled in 2022 that her statements were largely accurate.

This decision won’t mark the conclusion of what some are calling a contemporary version of Jarndyce v Jarndyce (a never-ending legal battle imagined by Charles Dickens). The ongoing dispute over legal fees, referred to as 'WAG War II,' has resulted in another win for Coleen.

Last month, Rebekah filed a request to challenge the decision to make her pay Coleen as much as £1.8 million in legal fees.

Coleen earned the nickname Wagatha Christie when she figured out that information about her was being shared with The Sun newspaper through Rebekah Vardy's account. Rebekah later tried to take Coleen to court for defamation but ended up losing the case (as seen in a photo from the trial in 2022).

The attorneys representing the women fought in the High Court regarding the amount Rebekah should be required to pay in legal fees following her loss in a libel case in 2022. Her legal team has stated that she is appealing the judge's decision.

During a hearing that lasted three days, attorneys representing Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy, contended that the amount should be lowered because they claimed there was 'serious misconduct' on the part of Coleen's legal representatives.

However, Senior Costs Judge Andrew Gordon-Saker concluded that, by a slim margin, Coleen's legal team hadn't done anything wrong. As a result, he decided that this was not the right situation to lower the amount of money Rebekah was required to pay.

Court records reveal that Rebekah has filed for an appeal, which her attorneys at Kingsley Napley have stated pertains to the ruling on misconduct.

The rivalry between Rebekah and Coleen shows no signs of cooling off, as Rebekah has continued to make negative comments about her ex-friend in connection with their experiences in the Jungle.

Ever since Coleen stepped into the jungle, Rebekah has been upfront about her feelings toward her rival, calling her 'boring' and even suggesting that she should eat a bull's penis.

Rebekah also suggested that her competitor Coleen was having an easier time in the I'm A Celebrity camp compared to her own experience on the ITV show.

The celebrity revealed that this year's contestants are receiving extravagant treats much too soon in the competition. She emphasized that during her first week in the camp, she barely had any meals.

It's been five years since the beginning of the Wagatha Christie saga—a strange, unquestionably trivial, but deeply fascinating legal drama that captured the attention of the entire country.

She remarked, "The contestants this year have it much easier than we did when I participated. We barely received any food during the first week, not to mention any comforts from home."

I don’t resent them enjoying their comforts early on since they’re essential for survival in the jungle. However, it seems like ITV isn’t really pushing them to earn those luxuries. Frustrated campmates often lead to the most entertaining television.

Ultimately, it appears that Coleen came out on top, securing the second spot in the live finale.

In contrast, Rebekah was the third contestant eliminated from her season in 2017.
