Rebecca Ferguson Slams 'Idiot' Co-Star Who 'Screamed' At Her On Set
Rebecca Ferguson is remembering a moment when another famous person showed disrespect towards her while they were filming.
In the most recent installment of the Reign With Josh Smith podcast, the Swedish performer discussed a tragic event that occurred while filming with a fellow actor whom she described as an "utter fool."
Rebecca recalled a certain instance in which an individual was experiencing intense feelings of insecurity and anger due to their inability to produce the desired scenes.
I felt very exposed and uneasy, which led to someone shouting at me. Unfortunately, since this individual was the main actor on set, I didn't have any support or protection from anyone. As a result, I had no one to turn to when things got tough and I often found myself crying as I left the filming location.
Even though she didn't explicitly mention who the celebrity was, she affirmed that it wasn't Hugh Jackman, her co-star in the 2021 film Reminiscence, or Tom Cruise, with whom she has acted in Mission: Impossible movies.
According to Rebecca, the individual who was not named would say impolite things to her while the filming team was present. These comments included things like "do you really consider yourself an actor?" and "this is the best I have to collaborate with?"
Rebecca mentioned that she made a decision to face her colleague, despite feeling immensely frightened about it.
As she reminisced, she recalled telling the individual, "You can leave me alone. I'm committed to perfecting my technique with a tennis ball." It appears that she was referring to the method of rehearsing with a tennis ball in preparation for scenes that would require special effects to be added later on.
"I recall the producers approaching me and stating, 'You cannot do this to the leading actor. We must allow this individual to be present on the set,'" she elaborated.
Rebecca expressed her disagreement with the situation and felt that it was unnecessary. She recalled confronting the director later and asking for an explanation of the events."
The director acknowledged, "You're correct. I haven't been looking out for everyone else. I've been favoring this individual," according to the speaker. "After that moment, things improved considerably, but it took me a while to realize it."
Even though she had to handle a difficult situation, Rebecca maintained that the experience provided her with valuable knowledge.
Since then, I always ensure that I do not reach a stage where upon arriving back at my residence, I question the occurrence of events," she expressed.
Following the release of the podcast on Tuesday, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson expressed his support for Rebecca on social media. He commended his co-star from the 2014 movie Hercules, referring to her as his "protector" while on set.
Although it's unpleasant to witness, I admire her for standing up against such nonsense," stated The Rock. "I hold great affection for her and would be interested in discovering the person who committed this act."
