Dani Carvajal is performing exceptionally well as the starting right-back for Real Madrid and is currently in peak form, having secured both the European Championship and the UEFA Champions League in the previous season.

At 32 years old, the player is nearing the end of his prime, so the club is seeking a fresh talent to fill the role and has pinpointed Trent Alexander-Arnold as their main target.

The Liverpool player's deal at Anfield is set to expire next summer, and Real Madrid is hoping to attract him to their team by presenting an exciting new opportunity.

According to Caught Offside, they are also making sure to have a contingency plan ready in case the deal doesn't go as expected.

"Choices In London"

According to the source, Real Madrid is considering Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro as a backup option if they are unable to secure Alexander-Arnold next summer.

Carlo Ancelotti values Porro's talents and qualities, viewing him as a solid offensive option compared to the Liverpool star. At only 25 years old, he has his prime years still ahead of him in top-tier football.

Real Madrid is hopeful that, as a player from Spain, Porro might be persuaded to come back to his homeland if the right proposal comes along. However, finalizing the transfer won't be easy financially, since Tottenham is looking for around €65 million for him.

Porro's existing agreement with Tottenham is set to expire in the summer of 2028, which limits Real Madrid's ability to negotiate on transfer fees. It's clear that the financial aspect could be a significant obstacle for the Merengues in the future.

Currently, all attention is focused on the Liverpool player, who not only has a stronger track record but could also be signed without any transfer fee if everything works out as expected.
