Alex Beresford, a well-known TV personality, and his dad, Noel, have emerged as the champions of the much-talked-about reality show Celebrity Race Across The World in the year 2023.

The weatherman and TV host, aged 43, asserted that the event was his most challenging experience. However, he also mentioned that he would hold dear his participation in it, since he was able to do it alongside his father.

Throughout the TV show, they journeyed across 24 nations and over 10,000 kilometers starting from Marrakesh, Morocco, to the last stop in Tromso, Norway.

Additionally, they triumphed over strong opponents such as Harry Judd, the drummer from McFly, and his mother Emma, who came in second place, and Melanie Blatt, the vocalist from All Saints, and her mother Helene, who achieved third place.

Billy Monger, a well-known British racer and commentator, along with his sister Bonny, who had previously secured the top spot, were unfortunately unable to continue with the final stage due to a sudden family crisis.

The young adult shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) about their exit from the competition. They expressed how disappointed they were to leave the race with Bon. Unfortunately, a family member had a serious accident, which required them to return home. However, things have improved since then, and their loved one is doing much better now. Despite the unexpected departure, the individual enjoyed the experience and appreciated the adventure.

Looking back on their triumph, Beresford expressed their joy by saying, "This feels utterly amazing. We sense that we are ruling the world at the moment."

He said, "This has been the most challenging encounter I've ever encountered. Nonetheless, we were able to journey together, as males, and not everyone has the opportunity to do so. This is why this journey has been indelible and will remain with me for the rest of our days."

In the meantime, his dad Noel expressed the event as "unforgettable". He also mentioned that his son Alex kept urging him to come along by saying "come on dad, come on dad" to which Noel replied that he was right behind him.

"He continued to tug me forward and the end result is absolutely rewarding."

On the final episode of the BBC series aired on Wednesday, the duo commenced the last phase in the leading position for the first time on their journey.

The journey began at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, with a lengthy distance of over 2,000km to travel before reaching the destination. On the route, they covered the beautiful country of Sweden.

The dad and lad pair made a pit stop in Stockholm to earn some cash by shoveling snow at a sauna located near a lake, as their funds were running low.

When Beresford travelled from Sweden to Finland, they had a childhood dream of visiting Lapland, so they went to Norway. While travelling on a bus from Narvik to Tromso, they coincidentally met Judd and his mother Emma. Meanwhile, Blatt and her mother were on the highway heading towards the Norwegian border.

Once they departed from the bus, their GPS devices steered them to the Arctic Cathedral and eventually they were advised to ride the Fjellheisen cable car to the lookout point where they would ultimately arrive at the end point.

Beresford and his dad got a lift from a car that was driving by to complete their journey, while Judd and his mother travelled by bus, and Blatt and her mother used up their remaining 20 euros to take a taxi.

After reaching the observation deck, Judd and his mom praised the victorious duo. McFly's celebrity also noted "We put in our best effort, but unfortunately came up just short."

"We gave it our all... The ranking doesn't matter. I am extremely proud of my mother, her performance was remarkable."

Upon achieving the third position, Blatt and her parent expressed, "Our accomplishment is having completed the race, and that's what really counts. We have no feelings of regret."

The adventure involved famous people and their relatives travelling across North Africa to coastal harbours and Mediterranean beaches, ancient cities, snowy Scandinavia, the Alps, and the Baltic States. They were not allowed to use airplanes or phones and had to manage with a small amount of money.
