Attention! Winners of Race Across the World gave an interview to BBC Breakfast.

Alfie and Owen, who are best pals and the winners of Race Across the World race, have conveyed to the BBC that it was incredibly arduous to keep their triumphant accomplishment under wraps.

A couple from Hertfordshire who are both 21 years old successfully made it to the final checkpoint in Lombok and claimed the prize of £20,000. They were the first to arrive.

They overtook the mother-daughter pair of Eugenie and Isabel, who were trailing them by only eight minutes.

They are now the champions of the Bafta-winning BBC One show and hold the distinction of being the youngest team to achieved such a feat.

After making it to the finals, the contestants had a jubilant toast together.

During their appearance on BBC Breakfast, they revealed that they had only disclosed the information to their immediate family, yet they had acquaintances inquiring about it on a daily basis.

Moreover, Alfie expressed his opinion that they managed to handle the rivalry in a more proficient way than anticipated.

According to Owen, he thought there would be a huge argument, but it didn't occur.

Alfie, who referees football matches, and Owen, who is training to become a pilot, surpassed their competitors Betty and James, who came in third place, as well as Stephen and Viv, who finished last, in the competition.

Brydie and Sharon, who were related as mother and daughter, got kicked out of the competition in an earlier stage.

Based on the latest overnight viewing data from Barb, the final episode on Wednesday was viewed by a total of 3.8 million individuals.

Out of all the seasons of the show, the first episode had the highest number of viewers. Recent data has shown that within 28 days, over seven million people watched the series, even including those who watched it on a delayed basis.

Eugenie and Isabel, a team consisting of a mother-daughter duo, finished the race just eight minutes after the first-place winners.

The competition began in the northern part of Japan and lasted for 50 days. The teams journeyed through six countries in eastern Asia, covering a distance of 15,000 kilometers.

The last part of the trip started in the city of Jakarta, which is the capital of Indonesia. Owen and Alfie were ahead of Eugenie and Isabel by 12 minutes.

They encountered a significant obstacle when they found out that the boat going to their intended destination, the tiny island of Gili Meno, only operates during daylight hours. As a result, they had to delay their departure until the morning.

Due to the delay, Eugenie and Isabel had the opportunity to meet up, and afterwards both groups started their journey on rapid boats at the early hours of the morning.

'The Highlight Of Our Lives'

Upon opening the last guest registry, Alife and Owen were thrilled and embraced each other while shouting "we did it".

Alfie expressed that their victory was the "most amazing moment we've ever had" and included: "It seems like we achieved some extraordinary memories, unimaginable experiences."

During an appearance on BBC Breakfast, Alfie expressed that his entire journey was "amazing." He conveyed his gratitude by revealing that he will be forever thankful for having the opportunity to explore areas that some people may never have the chance to experience.

Betty and James took third place after arriving a whole day and 34 minutes after the champions.

Betty expressed that they have discovered to communicate more effectively as a result of this experience. Additionally, they now have another individual to rely on for support if necessary, which Betty finds remarkable.

Stephen and Viv finished the course after the winners and were 30 hours and 20 minutes late.

After coming fourth, they said that they were disappointed about not winning but happy for their fellow teammates.

The youth have been receiving positive feedback from their fans on social media. One individual expressed their admiration, saying, "I can't get enough of them. Their goodness, their affection for one another, and their camaraderie as young men is incredibly heartwarming. I've never been more invested in anyone's success."

Another individual expressed: "I have never desired anyone to emerge victorious in a television competition as much as Alfie. His mother would be extremely gratified of him."

Previously in the show, Alfie mentioned how his Mom passed away when he was only five years old.

During his time in Hoi An, Vietnam, he ignited a lantern that floated on the water as a tribute to his mother. This moment gave him the chance to reflect on her for the first time during the race.

I am overwhelmed with feelings that I haven't experienced since I was a child. I desire to relive the sensation of seeing her once more.

Both of the young guys have kept following their love for exploring - Alfie has been journeying since the program and Owen is set to go on another adventure in September when he visits Asia.
