Royal family pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on second anniversary after her death

The Royal family has honored the memory of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away two years ago.

On the website X, the family posted: 'Honoring the memory of Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022.'

The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, also praised the "70 wonderful years of her time on the throne."

"Today is the 2nd anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's death," he wrote on social media.

King Charles went to the church close to Balmoral to pray and think about his mother.

Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at Crathie Kirk, a place where the former Queen often visited to worship devoutly.

Charles was spotted with his window cracked open, sitting in the rear of the red state Bentley with Camilla beside him as they made their way to the place of worship at 11:25am.

The substitute preacher at the gathering referred to the anniversary as ‘especially meaningful and touching for the royal family’.

Rt Rev Dr Shaw Paterson expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to deliver a sermon to the worshippers at Crathie Kirk, where King Charles III and other members of the royal family were in attendance.

This weekend is especially important for the royal family, as well as for all of us in Scotland, the UK, and the Commonwealth. This is because on the 8th of September, it will be two years since the passing of Her Majesty the Queen and His Majesty's ascension to the throne.

Just like his mother who has passed away, the king is well-respected and beloved in this community. I included the royal family, as well as all the people in this area and the larger nation and Commonwealth, in my prayers.

After the hour-long service at Crathie Kirk, Charles and Camilla departed in a car.

When the late Queen passed away, Charles was staying at his estate in Aberdeenshire in the Highlands.

The Queen passed away peacefully at 96 years old on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Castle.
