Charles, a man aged 75, and his wife Camilla have been enjoying their summer in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. It was in this very place that the former monarch passed away at the impressive age of 96 on September 8, 2022.

Charles and Camilla were spotted attending Sunday morning worship at the small stone church of Crathie Kirk, the place where the royal family goes to pray when they are staying at Balmoral Castle nearby. The church was originally built by Queen Victoria, who is Charles' great-great-great-grandmother, and Queen Elizabeth used to visit regularly.

Charles became king two years ago on Sunday when his mother passed away during her Platinum Jubilee year after ruling for a remarkable seven decades.

In his second year as king, there were two important health issues that happened. Both Charles and his daughter-in-law Kate, who is the Princess of Wales, shared they were diagnosed with different types of cancer earlier this year.

The king has slowly started to do more public work, going to many visits, meetings, and events. This past weekend, Charles and Camilla, wearing a Scottish kilt, were spotted having a good time and laughing as they went to the Braemar Gathering Highland Games. This event happens every year and includes bagpipe music, Highland dances, and old-fashioned games like tug-of-war.
