The Royal Family shared a photo in memory of the Queen who passed away in 2019.

The King and Queen went to a church ceremony close to Balmoral in honor of the late Queen Elizabeth II, marking two years since her passing.

The royal couple, King Charles and Queen Camilla, went to Crathie Kirk on Royal Deeside. The late Queen used to attend services there when she was in Scotland.

Charles, who is 75 years old, greeted the small group of people who gathered to see him enter the church in Aberdeenshire. They described him as "very kind and polite."

Guest speaker Rt Rev Dr Shaw Paterson reflected on the anniversary as being especially important and emotional for the royal family.

Dr. Paterson, who leads the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, expressed gratitude for Charles's presence at the service, which lasted an hour. Also in attendance were Scotland's first minister, John Swinney.

He mentioned that the King was popular and respected in the Balmoral community, and felt like he belonged there just as much as his mother did.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were taken to Crathie Kirk on Royal Deeside.

Numerous respects have been given to the deceased Queen, with the official social media pages of the monarchy sharing a picture of her from a summer gathering at Buckingham Palace in 2019.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer praised the "70 wonderful years of her reign".

Sir Keir expressed on social media that the late Queen's commitment to the UK and Commonwealth has shown us that no matter the difficulties our country may encounter, the importance of serving others will always remain.

"She was a central figure in the life of this country. Today we pay tribute to her legacy."

The exclusive ceremony took place at Crathie Kirk, a church where Queen Elizabeth II had attended service.

In his speech at Crathie Kirk, Dr. Paterson expressed that this weekend is very important and emotionally meaningful for the royal family, as well as for all of us in Scotland, the wider UK, and the Commonwealth.

On September 8th, we remember the passing of the Queen and the King taking over the throne two years ago.

He stated, "I included the royal family, as well as all the residents in this community and the broader nation and Commonwealth, in my prayers."

The ceremony was conducted by Reverend Kenneth MacKenzie, who is the minister for the Parish of Braemar and Crathie and also serves as the King's domestic chaplain.

Rev MacKenzie served the Queen during her last days and provided assistance to the royal family after her passing.

King Charles went to the Braemar Gathering last Saturday.

The BBC's Songs Of Praise is airing from Crathie Kirk for the first time in honor of the Queen's passing anniversary.

The recorded show includes a brand new hymn melody commissioned by the King, called 'Crathie', to pay tribute to the church.

The monarch has been residing at Balmoral, the same place where the former Queen passed away at 96 years old on 8 September 2022.

The home in Aberdeenshire has been passed down for many years within the royal family. It was purchased by Prince Albert in 1852 as a gift for Queen Victoria.

This past weekend, King Charles and Camilla were present at the Braemar Gathering Highland Games in the area.
