Sainsbury's slashes price of Quality Street and Celebrations ahead of Christmas becoming cheapest...
As families in the UK prepare for a festive holiday season, many will be searching for tasty goodies to fill their homes.
If you’re trying to save some money during the holiday season, there's a fantastic supermarket offer that chocolate enthusiasts won’t want to miss.
Sainsbury's has drastically reduced prices on Quality Street and Celebrations, offering large boxes of chocolates for less than five pounds.
Giant tubs of delicious treats that usually sell for £6 are now available for just £3.95 as the big day approaches. However, customers need to act fast, as time is running out to take advantage of this offer.
With a discount of almost 50%, this offer seems to position Sainsbury's as the most affordable supermarket for Quality Street at the moment. Even Aldi can't compete, selling the same size tub for £4.49.
However, for those who are smart about saving money, there’s a little twist. If you want to enjoy the discounts, you must have a Nectar card; otherwise, you’ll end up paying the regular price.
While customers don't have to have a Nectar card to start shopping, they can easily get one for free at any time.
To take advantage of this offer, customers who do not yet possess a Nectar card must visit the Sainsbury's website and complete a registration form with their information to become a member.

After completing this process, they will receive a digital card that can simply be scanned at the checkout to enjoy the discounted chocolate price.
However, customers need to move quickly if they want to take advantage of the candy deal, as it will expire on Monday, December 2nd.
Earlier this year, rival supermarket Asda cleared its shelves after launching a sale on large tubs of chocolate. They attracted customers with an amazing promotion of two tubs for just £5, bringing the price down to only £2.50 each.
This follows reports that a disappointing cocoa harvest is expected to increase the cost of chocolate.
Brands have faced criticism for shrinkflation after consumers observed that manufacturers have gradually been decreasing the size of their products, which means customers are getting less value for their purchases.
Studies have shown that over the years, Mars Celebrations, Nestlé Quality Street, and Cadbury Roses have shrunk to less than half their original size compared to what they were selling in 2009, even though their prices have only increased.
This follows Sainsbury's announcement of its strategy to match Aldi's prices on various products in an effort to regain customers who are turning to the more affordable competitor.
In November, the supermarket chain announced that it was the first in the UK to expand its price-matching initiative with Aldi to include hundreds of items in its convenience stores.

Sainsbury's announced that its Aldi Price Match program will be offered in 1,400 of its locations. This expansion includes 800 of its smaller stores, complementing the 600 supermarkets that were already participating.
The company announced that Sainsbury's Local stores will now offer as many as 200 items with prices that are matched to those of Aldi. This selection includes essentials like milk, bread, butter, pasta, rice, chicken, and tuna.
Sainsbury's has revealed that it will include baked beans, chicken, fresh herbs, and vegetables as part of its offerings. This announcement comes right before the company shares its financial results for the first half of the year on Thursday.
The company mentioned that the program is centered around the everyday essentials that families purchase frequently. This includes products like jam, peanut butter, honey, steak, potatoes, and vegetable oil. Additionally, they have introduced more promotions for users of their Nectar loyalty program.
Aldi’s new price matching initiative takes the place of the previous “Pocket Friendly Prices” campaign that was launched last year to highlight reduced prices in its convenience stores. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's Nectar price program will continue, but it will only be available in their supermarkets, not in their local shops.
Sainsbury's currently aligns its prices with Aldi for over 500 private-label and brand-name items in its larger stores as well as on the internet.
Aldi, a competing budget supermarket from Germany, was recognized as the most affordable grocery store of 2023 by the consumer organization Which?
