People from Queensland who are planning to have a break this Easter will now have more travel choices as Virgin and Jetstar have recently revealed new non-stop flights to numerous locations just in time for the upcoming busy season.

For those who prefer not to join the rush of people leaving, Korean Air is set to restart its flights to Seoul shortly after the holiday period.

The number of people visiting Brisbane Airport has increased since it was reopened in December 2020. Graham and Natalie Auchterlonie had the pleasure of picking up their daughter Katherine from the airport after she returned home.

Brisbane Airport is making a significant change as it adds thousands of new flights, allowing for more seats for travelers. This comes as the airport makes a recovery from three years filled with cancellations, delays, and interruptions caused by the pandemic.

The Brisbane Airport Corporation expects a significant rise of 77% in international travelers arriving and departing during the Easter season. Additionally, there will be an estimated 2% increase in domestic flights compared to the previous year.

In general, the airport anticipates a whopping 1.4 million individuals to travel through – which is up by 13 percent from the previous year. The primary reason for this surge is the revival of global travel.

Virgin Australia will start flying to Samoa again on Thursday, and Jetstar is scheduled to launch non-stop flights to Auckland on the following Monday.

Starting from March 31, Virgin Australia will restart its operations to Vanuatu. On April 23, Korean Air will also recommence its flights to Seoul.

Stephen Beckett, who is in charge of public affairs at Brisbane Airport Corporation, stated that tourists are expected to arrive in Brisbane from the countries of New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

According to Beckett, the favorite places for residents of Queensland are going to be New Zealand, Bali, and the UK. Moreover, India is a fresh participant in the list.

He mentioned that India is a market that has been experiencing significant growth in both imports and exports.

Prior to the outbreak of the pandemic, this specific market was ranked as our eighth-largest source of incoming business. However, as a direct result of the pandemic, this market has now risen in ranking and currently places as our fourth-largest source of incoming business.

Queenslanders are increasingly choosing India as their preferred holiday spot, according to recent trends. Alamy has given credit for this observation.

For individuals from Queensland who are venturing outside of their own country, India has risen from the 11th most frequently visited destination in 2019 to the sixth most frequently visited destination in present day.

According to Beckett, Easter is a highly active time of the year. He recommended that passengers show up 90 minutes early for a local flight and three hours early for an overseas flight.

"He mentioned that by doing so, you create a safety net to handle congested streets, finding parking spots, reaching terminals, or experiencing setbacks with your Uber or taxi."

Children who love to travel have an exciting opportunity from April 11-14, as the beloved animated characters Bluey and Bingo will be available for a meet-and-greet at the Easter Lounge located in the domestic terminal. This entertainment zone will also provide various fun craft activities and enjoyable family movies throughout April 1-14.
