Princess Beatrice announces pregnancy with second child
Buckingham Palace has revealed that Princess Beatrice is expecting her second baby.
The 36-year-old granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, along with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is getting ready to welcome their new baby in early spring.
King Charles III has been notified, and according to the Palace, both families are "thrilled" about the news as of Tuesday.
The baby is set to be the 11th in line for the throne, which will push Princess Eugenie, Beatrice's younger sister, to 12th place.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2020, has a three-year-old daughter named Sienna, who was delivered at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Mr. Mapelli Mozzi has a son named Wolfie, who is eight years old, from a prior relationship.
Princess Beatrice is the firstborn child of the Duke and Duchess of York, who are Sarah Ferguson and her husband.
A message from the Palace announced: "Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to share that they are expecting their second child early next year, adding another sibling to Wolfie and Sienna."
The King has been notified, and both families are thrilled with the announcement.
Buckingham Palace shared two photos with the announcement: one featuring Beatrice and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi, and another that shows Mr. Mapelli Mozzi with Wolfie and Sienna.
The newborn will be the 14th great-grandchild of the late queen and marks the second one born since her passing in 2022, following the arrival of Beatrice's nephew, Ernest, who was born last year.
The joyful announcement arrives in the midst of a challenging year for the royal family, as the King, the Princess of Wales, and Beatrice's mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, have all been diagnosed with cancer.
