No police investigation after Prince Andrew among scores named in Jeffrey Epstein court papers

Prince Andrew

The Metropolitan Police stated that there has been no initiation of an inquiry following the disclosure of court documents in the US, which implicated Prince Andrew as one of the acquaintances of Jeffrey Epstein.

Recently revealed court papers identify multiple individuals associated with Epstein, although several of them are not charged with any misconduct.

Johanna Sjoberg testified in May 2016 that the Duke of York had touched her breast while they were both sitting on a couch inside a Manhattan apartment owned by a billionaire from the United States about 20 years prior.

Earlier, Buckingham Palace denied the allegations and stated that they are completely false.

Once the papers were released from being confidential, Republic, an organization that advocates for the end of the royal family system, informed law enforcement about Prince Andrew.

Graham Smith, the leader of the organization, appealed to the Metropolitan Police to initiate a probe and requested the monarch to issue a public declaration regarding the issue.

Up until now, it seems like there hasn't been a proper investigation into the crime, no questioning of the suspect or any other people who saw what happened, and no valid reason for not doing anything about it.

The Met issued a declaration stating that they acknowledge the publication of legal records concerning Jeffrey Epstein.

If there is any new and important information that we are made aware of, we will examine it thoroughly, just like we do with all other matters.

No inquiry has been initiated.

Epstein, an embarrassed financial expert, had been criticized for harming minors who were as young as 14 years in age.

He passed away in his prison cell located in a federal jail in Manhattan during the year 2019. This happened while he was still under trial for charges related to human trafficking.

Ghislaine Maxwell is presently undergoing a 20-year jail sentence for her involvement in aiding with the recruitment and preparation of adolescent girls for Epstein's sexual exploitation.

Prince Andrew has strongly refuted all claims made against him previously.

Back in 2022, the prince managed to reach an agreement outside of court with Virginia Giuffre, who had accused him of assaulting her sexually when she was just 17 years old.

The reported amount of the settlement was around £12 million, but it wasn't accompanied by an admission of wrongdoing.

Buckingham Palace hasn't said anything about the documents regarding the duke since he stopped being a working royal in 2019 because of his connection to Epstein.
