Ads coming to Amazon Prime Video movies and TV shows starting Jan. 29

The day has been decided by Amazon for the commencement of airing ad breaks on streaming material on Prime Video. It is scheduled to be on the 29th of January.

On Tuesday, Amazon sent an email to their Prime members letting them know that they will now be including some ads during their Prime Video content. This decision was made to help support their continued investment in creating high-quality content and to continue improving it over time.

The modification was disclosed by Amazon on September 22nd, joining the ranks of other streaming services like Disney+, Netflix, and Max, who have already included ad-supported levels. For a lengthy period, Netflix fought against incorporating advertisements, but eventually agreed to add a $7 ad-supported level last autumn as the number of subscribers decreased.

Amazon has declared that they want to have significantly fewer commercials compared to traditional TV and other streaming TV services. They have sent out emails to their customers to notify them of this change, but it won't affect the price of their Prime membership. No action is required by the customers.

Amazon has announced that it will give American Prime members the opportunity to opt for an ad-free subscription for an extra cost of $2.99 every month. However, advertising will still remain present in live event content, such as sports, that can be watched on Prime Video which includes the famous game of "Thursday Night Football".

If you want to become an Amazon Prime member, you will need to pay a monthly fee of $14.99 or an annual fee of $139. For those only interested in Prime Video, a membership is available for $8.99 each month.
