Kamala Harris's prospects of winning the presidency have diminished considerably after Donald Trump claimed victory in North Carolina, which is the first of seven key swing states.
The vice president's strongest opportunity lies in the "blue wall" states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Additionally, counting is still ongoing in Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada, which present alternative routes to reaching the 270 Electoral College votes needed.
Voting is still taking place in Alaska and Hawaii.
According to the initial findings from NBC News's exit poll, voters have identified the economy and the condition of democracy in the US as two of the most crucial topics.
Thirty-five percent of respondents identified democracy as their primary concern, while a slightly smaller group, 31 percent, prioritized the economy. Abortion was the main issue for 14 percent of voters, and 11 percent focused on immigration. Only 4 percent considered foreign policy to be the most crucial issue.
As he cast his vote in Florida, Trump brushed off the worries of his critics who feared he might refuse to accept an election defeat, labeling those concerns as “crazy.”
While casting his vote alongside his wife, Melania Trump, the ex-president commented to reporters, "If I were to lose in an election and it was conducted fairly, I would be the first to admit it."

Harris Watch Party Turns Gloomy And Somber
The atmosphere shifted to a more pessimistic tone at Kamala Harris's election night gathering at Howard University just before midnight. CNN commentators on the screen were reporting that Pennsylvania seemed increasingly unattainable, and they also highlighted worries about Harris's campaign in other key Democratic states like Michigan and Wisconsin.
It's turning into an evening of much more modest hopes for the Democrats, and a few people have started to leave the gathering. While most attendees remain, the music continues to play. However, the dancing seems to have come to a halt, at least for the moment.

Elon Musk: Donald Trump's Perfect Chaos Match
As his private jet touched down in Palm Beach, Florida, where he planned to spend election night at Trump's exclusive resort on Tuesday evening, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX – who also owns the social media platform X – was uncertain if his choice would turn out to be successful or not.
However, he can take comfort in knowing that he's contributed to making the 2024 election more bizarre, more complicated, and filled with misinformation.

Pollster 'Nostradamus' Sees Ominous Harris Leads
The American political historian has earned the nickname "Nostradamus" of elections due to his impressive track record, having accurately forecasted nine out of the last ten presidential elections since 1984. He has steadfastly maintained his initial prediction that Harris will emerge victorious in 2024.
