Two NS&I Premium Bonds holders from Hampshire and Outer London celebrate big win of £1 million - IFA
Recent updates from NS&I have announced that ERNIE has bestowed the millionaire status upon two individuals from Hampshire and Outer London by awarding them the Premium Bonds jackpot in this month's draw.
A lucky person from Hampshire hit the jackpot with their Premium Bond, whose number was 514CV247038. Their holding of £45,000 paid off big time! The Bond was bought in September 2022 and secured a £1 million prize for the ticket holder. Amazingly, this is the thirteenth person from Hampshire to win a £1 million jackpot.
This month's prize of £1 million has been won by the holder of the 401XE212038 Bond number, who lives in the area outside of central London. They had bought the winning Bond in July 2020 and have a total of £10,575 in Premium Bonds. This makes them the eleventh millionaire from the Outer London area to win the Premium Bonds jackpot.
Andrew Westhead, director in charge of retail at NS&I, expressed his delight in announcing the newest millionaires from Hampshire and Outer London. He also mentioned that NS&I is happy to provide joy to their customers every month through their tax-free prizes, which could amount from £25 up to £1 million.
We are commemorating three decades since ERNIE selected the first lucky millionaire. The prize amount for May was an impressive £453 million and over 5.8 million winners were drawn. If you have more £1 Bonds saved up, your probability of winning a tax-free prize increases as every bond has an equal chance of winning.
Premium Bond owners can quickly see if they've won a reward in the May competition beginning on May 2nd. They can tap into the NS&I site, access the prize checker software, or get their Alexa to ask for them.
In order to verify their winnings and ensure they haven't missed out on any unclaimed rewards, NS&I website users must provide their Premium Bonds holder's number. Those who prefer to use the prize checker app, on the other hand, will need either their NS&I number or holder's number. It's also possible to use these tools to determine whether there are any outstanding rewards that customers are owed but haven't claimed yet.
In the May 2024 prize draw, a whopping £453,420,125 will be given out as 5,888,574 prizes. This will be awarded to the lucky holders of the 123,660,037,612 Bond numbers who are eligible for the draw.
Premium Bonds award winners get informed of their rewards if they have given their contact information. Nevertheless, it sometimes happens that clients move or neglect to change their contact information with NS&I. This can result in unclaimed rewards, primarily for those who decide to collect their prizes via cheque instead of bank transfer. Initial Bond Certificates can be registered online or through the telephone helpline on 08085 007 007.
There are still a total of 63,780 awards in Hampshire that are waiting to be collected and they have a combined value of £2,104,350.
There are a whopping 222,004 prizes in Outer London that have not been claimed yet, and they add up to a staggering £7,746,975.
If you want to get your rewards without any hassle and quicker, you can choose to receive them through automatic bank deposits or by adding them to your existing Premium Bonds. This is how the majority of winners receive their winnings, and it's much faster and more secure than waiting for a cheque. You can find simple instructions on how to switch your payment preferences on our website. If you're unsure whether you have an outstanding prize, you can easily use the NS&I prize checker app or online tool to find out. Presently, there are a significant number of unclaimed prizes worth a total of £83,367,525, so make sure to check if you have any unclaimed winnings.
