September's Premium Bonds Winners From West Sussex & Manchester! Birmingham Winner Gets £100k With Small Investment

NS&I announced that two lucky Premium Bonds winners from West Sussex and Manchester have won the £1 million prize this month.

In the September draw, there were over 5.9 million prizes given out, totaling more than £459 million in payouts. The first Bond number drawn, 388VE682612, belongs to a winner in West Sussex with £18,101 in Premium Bonds, purchased in April 2020. The second Bond number, 569RS008033, belongs to a winner in Manchester with £21,700 in Premium Bonds, purchased in February 2024. NS&I Retail Director, Andrew Westhead, congratulated the winners from West Sussex and Manchester, calling it a great way to end the summer.

I want to give a special shoutout to the lucky winner who won £100,000 with just £525 in Premium Bonds. This proves that even smaller investments can lead to big prizes. In the latest draw, a person from Birmingham walked away with a huge sum of money.

Premium Bonds holders can find out if they won a prize in the September draw starting on Tuesday 3 September. You can check on the NS&I website, use the prize checker app, or ask Alexa. Make sure to have your Premium Bonds holder's number ready when checking on the website, or use either your NS&I or holder's number on the app. Don't forget to check for any unclaimed prizes that could be waiting for you.

In September 2024, there will be a prize draw with a total of 5,961,610 prizes worth £459,043,775. A total of 125,193,758,564 Bond numbers were eligible for the draw.

Premium Bonds winners will be notified of their prizes if they have given NS&I their contact information. Sometimes, customers change their address or forget to update their details, leading to prizes going unclaimed. This is particularly common for those who choose to receive their prizes by cheque. To avoid missing out on winnings, customers can register their paper Bonds online or by calling 08085 007 007.

There are still 36,656 prizes in West Sussex waiting to be claimed, totaling £1,248,425. The prize from April 1962 worth £25 is the oldest unclaimed, while the largest unclaimed prize from January 2023 is worth £10,000.

In Manchester, there are 25,127 prizes that have not been claimed yet, totaling £933,800. The prize that has been waiting the longest is worth £25 and is from a draw in August 1963. The biggest unclaimed prize in Manchester is worth £50,000 and is from a draw in February 2016.

Customers have the option to either receive their winnings directly in their bank account or put them back into more Premium Bonds. The majority of prizes are already paid out this way, which is faster and safer than waiting for a check. Instructions on how to update payment preferences can be found here. Customers with unclaimed prizes can easily check using NS&I's online prize checker or the prize checker app.

Right now, there are 2,448,758 prizes that have not been claimed yet, totaling £87,318,950 in value.
