Foster says Coventry draw 'feels like a defeat'
City. Foster took over as the head of Plymouth in January after Schumacher left to join Stoke City.
The head coach of Plymouth Argyle, Ian Foster, expressed his disappointment in the 96th minute equalizer by Coventry City, which left him feeling like his team had suffered a defeat.
He made his remarks following a match in the Championship where the Sky Blues managed to come back twice and earn a challenging 2-2 draw. This was achieved when Liam Kitching's shot was pushed into the net towards the end of the game at Home Park.
According to Foster, Plymouth most likely were the better team and should have won the game. However, their management of the game was weak, leading to their downfall.
On Saturday, Leeds United, who are currently chasing promotion, will be welcomed by Plymouth Argyle.
When asked about how the game measured up to the lousy display in the second half against Sunderland, Foster expressed satisfaction with the general performance.
He informed BBC Radio Devon that one is susceptible to being excessively sentimental right after a game.
We're clearly not happy with how the goal was scored, and it's unfortunate we couldn't win the whole game.
"We had it in our hands until the very end, but due to bad judgement, we lost. However, we'll take this as a lesson and improve rapidly."
Plymouth is going to have a tough time in their next set of games in the Championship. They are going to play against the second-ranked team, Leeds, and then they will take on West Bromwich Albion, who is placed fifth in the league, just three days after that.
During the match on Saturday, Foster declared that his team must "bounce back fast" and that the upcoming days would be "psychologically strenuous for the players".
Leeds will definitely be pleased with the Coventry result and they will probably assume that we will be exhausted both mentally and physically when we face them.
