On Saturday morning, a pickup truck was hit by a plane with only one engine on Airport Way. Luckily, there were no injuries reported.
It is not known what caused the small airplane crash at Harvey Airfield in Snohomish on Monday.
On Saturday at around 11:42 a.m., a plane with only one engine and two people onboard hit the south perimeter security fence of the airport. This caused it to collide with a Dodge Ram 1500 which was on Airport Way. Courtney O’Keefe, who is a spokesperson from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, mentioned on Monday that fortunately no injuries were reported.
The place was attended by the sheriff's deputies and Snohomish County Fire District 4.
On Saturday afternoon, the road was closed by the police. At 3 p.m., the lanes were reopened.
According to records from the Federal Aviation Administration, the RV-10 airplane from Van's Aircraft was constructed from a kit in 2019 and is registered under the name of Thomas Spencer, who has a place of residence in Vergennes, Vermont. The airworthiness certificate of the aircraft was set to expire in 2028 and uses a Lycoming IO-540 engine.
On Monday, no comment was received from the National Transportation Safety Board, which is responsible for investigating plane crashes, despite being contacted.
