Phillip Schofield 'snubs Holly Willoughby TV return after fallout'

Phillip Schofield

According to reports, Phillip Schofield did not watch Holly Willoughby's TV comeback last weekend.

It has been reported that the ex-star of This Morning is still feeling emotionally hurt due to an alleged dispute with his co-host behind the scenes which eventually affected their friendship. As a result, it is said that he did not watch Dancing On Ice.

Last year, Schofield relinquished his position at ITV because he had confessed to fabricating a story about a romantic involvement with a subordinate employee, which he deemed imprudent, although not against the law. As for Willoughby, she departed from This Morning program in October, following the exposure of an alleged plan to abduct her.

Later on, it was disclosed that she will still be the presenter for Dancing On Ice. However, Stephen Mulhern will take over Schofield's role on the show, when it comes back on air on Sunday night.

According to a source quoted by The Sun, Phil is still feeling the effects of the fallout between himself and Holly. The situation was made public and it has left him with emotional bruises. He cannot watch the show This Morning and even hearing its theme music causes him deep emotional distress.

It doesn't seem probable that he's eagerly watching Holly's comeback on television. Phil simply wishes to let go of the past and live a peaceful existence, avoiding the limelight as he strives to recover.

According to an anonymous source, although Schofield expressed his encouragement in the midst of the purported abduction plan, he hasn't stayed in communication afterwards.

According to reports, he offered his support when the terrible kidnapping news was announced, but it seems like they haven't been in touch lately. Therefore, it's highly unlikely that he has spoken to Holly before she appeared on DOI again.

The friendship between Schofield and Willoughby had seemingly become strained even before they both left the show This Morning.

After the unfortunate passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, the two individuals faced significant trouble when they were charged with misconduct for jumping ahead of others in line to pay respects to the deceased monarch who was at rest in Westminster Abbey.

Even though ITV defended themselves with a statement and the hosts maintained that they didn't flout any regulations or jump ahead of anyone in line, the backlash persisted for several months.

In the past, there were accusations that Phillip and Holly's relationship had deteriorated privately. However, both of them have consistently claimed throughout the years that they have remained extremely close.

The reps of Phillip Schofield have been approached by Metro.co.uk for their input on the matter.
