It has recently been revealed that Phillip Schofield gave a substantial amount of money, amounting to six-figures, to a co-worker who was younger than him, with whom he had a romantic relationship. The payment also involved a legally binding agreement that prohibits the individual from disclosing any information about the events that took place.

The lawyers representing the TV host confirmed that they made a significant payment that covered the legal expenses of the younger man. In addition, the payment also provided compensation for the loss of his job and house.

The deal comprised a shared understanding not to disclose any information.

After serving as the presenter of the daytime program This Morning for over two decades, Schofield resigned from his position in May of 2023 after rumors surfaced of a dispute with his fellow co-host Holly Willoughby.

After seven days, he acknowledged that he had a relationship with a previous male colleague which was imprudent but not against the law. He then resigned from ITV completely.

In the month of December, an external assessment regarding the exit of the broadcaster was disclosed. According to the review, the presenter had rejected the invite to participate, as his mental health had gotten worse.

The younger man refused to participate as well.

The review found out that since it wasn't a legal inquiry, there was no authority to force individuals to cooperate. Everyone who participated did so of their own accord.

Last year, Schofield, who is currently 61 years old, stated in an interview with the BBC that the first intimate encounter between the two occurred in his dressing room. He also mentioned that the man was 20 years old when they first engaged in any sexual activity.

According to him, they were not in a relationship but had several romantic encounters within a span of a few months.

According to the speaker, although it might seem like he misused his authority, he did not feel that way at the moment.

Last week, ITV shared the news that Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley will be the permanent hosts of This Morning.
