It has been revealed that Phillip Schofield gave a considerable sum of money to a coworker he was romantically involved with, aspart of a contract that included a stipulation to keep their relationship private.
Last year, the ex-host of This Morning departed from ITV due to his confession of lying about his involvement in a relationship.
Attorneys representing the celebrity have verified that he provided financial assistance towards his ex-partner's lawyer bills, as well as reimbursement for the loss of occupation and housing.
Both parties agreed to a non-disclosure agreement as part of the agreement.
The Mail on Sunday first exposed that Schofield had given a large sum of money, which was reported to be in the six-figure range.
The BBC has not yet verified or officially announced this number.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield co-hosted both This Morning and Dancing On Ice.
Schofield departed from This Morning job in May of last year due to rumors of an estrangement between him and his partner on the show, Holly Willoughby.
Several days after, the TV show encountered a scandalous turn of events as Schofield admitted to having an "on-and-off relationship with a younger male coworker" that was mutually agreed upon. At the time of the relationship, Schofield was still married to his wife, Stephanie Lowe.
The host had initial interaction with the adolescent when he was 15 years old. After four years, Schofield assisted him in obtaining an opportunity to gain practical knowledge on the program, This Morning.
It is said that they started dating a year after the man turned 20, and at that time, he had already secured a position as a runner.
Following the revelation, Schofield expressed regret for deceiving his coworkers, the press, and loved ones regarding the affair. Consequently, he resigned from his position at ITV promptly.
During an interview with BBC News, he described the connection as a "serious mistake" and declared that his professional life is now complete.
The celebrity also talked about the topic of how much power each person had in the relationship, and if he had taken advantage of his higher position.
"I get it, and it's a completely legitimate question for you to ask," said Schofield to Amol Rajan.
If it constitutes exploitation of authority, it goes against my inherent disposition to behave in that manner. However, it is possible for others to interpret my actions as such. Nevertheless, that was not my personal perception of the situation at that given moment.
Last year, ITV conducted an assessment of how it dealt with the matter.
A document stated that significant attempts had been made to uncover the truth in 2020, but it was revealed that both individuals had continually rejected their involvement with each other.
Schofield refused to participate in the review, stating that it could pose a potential threat to his health.
It is being reported that both he and his previous companion are emotionally vulnerable after their romantic involvement was made public.
Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were declared as the new hosting duo for This Morning by the show last week.
Willoughby left the show for the sake of herself and her family, following Schofield's disclosure, which happened five months earlier.
